优点
- Effective cleaning in independent testing even though the iO2 feels less powerful than the iO3 and above.
- Simple one-button operation with no app or phone setup; the gentlest mode starts by default.
- Pressure protection is present even at this price, slowing the motor when you press too hard.
- Widely available in the US at Target, Walmart and Oral-B direct, with a published two-year limited warranty.
- The two-head starter can be the better buy when its price matches a one-head listing.
缺点
- A full charge takes about 18 to 24 hours despite the long battery life.
- The pressure indicator is a small red light in the power button and is easy to miss while brushing.
- Mode selection has no on-screen labels; you learn the one-, two- or three-flash signal, and the timer does not shut the brush off at two minutes.
- Toothpaste and water can collect in the hollow iO head, so it needs rinsing and air-drying apart from the handle.
- iO-only heads are proprietary and cost more than older Oral-B heads, and noise reached about 72 dB in Daily Clean in one test.
- The tested US charger is specified at 110–130 V, so travel needs the correct voltage, not just a plug adapter, and accessories vary by box.
已核实规格
| Model | Oral-B iO Series 2 (iO2), Night Black; “Limited Simple Clean” in the catalog slug is not a confirmed separate model. |
|---|---|
| Cleaning | small round head with oscillating/rotating movement and Oral-B’s marketed gentle micro-vibrations. |
| Modes | three — Super Sensitive, Gentle/Sensitive, Daily Clean. Super Sensitive is the default on startup; one button cycles them and the LED flashes once, twice or three times to show the mode. |
| Timer | two-minute brushing reminder with short pulses every 30 seconds for four mouth quadrants. It does not turn itself off at two minutes. |
| Pressure protection | detects excessive force, slows the brush, and lights a small red indicator in the power button. There is no multi-color pressure ring like the iO3 and above. |
| Charger | 110–130 V in the tested US unit; check the voltage marking on the supplied base before using it abroad. |
| Indicators | low-battery warning. There is no screen, Bluetooth or app coaching on this model. |
| Dimensions | 9.25 in tall with head, 7.2 in handle only; 4.4 oz with head, 4.1 oz handle only. |
| Heads | compatible with Oral-B iO-only replacement heads (Gentle Care, Ultimate Clean). Standard Pro/Smart/Genius non-iO heads do not fit. Replace about every three months or sooner if worn. |
| Bundle | the manufacturer’s starter listing covers one handle, charger, one Gentle Care head and one Ultimate Clean head (two total). Retailer bundles vary; a travel case is not guaranteed. |
| UPC | 069055142240 for the Night Black starter kit. Retailer UPCs and contents vary by color and kit. |
| Manual | Oral-B publishes an iO2-specific online getting-started guide. A separate printable US PDF was not verified. |

Battery life and charging
The manufacturer advertises up to four weeks per charge, and an independent tester measured 37 days in its usage pattern. Charging is the tradeoff: about 18 hours in independent testing against a roughly 24-hour official expectation. The tested US charger was specified at 110–130 V, so a plug adapter is not a voltage converter if you travel. If a brush will not turn on, confirm the supplied charger, a working outlet and the correct voltage, allow a full recharge, and then use the retailer return or Oral-B warranty route rather than opening the sealed handle.
Pressure sensor, modes and controls
There are three modes — Super Sensitive, Gentle/Sensitive and Daily Clean — and no mode memory, so you count button presses to reach Daily Clean. The two-minute timer paces four 30-second quadrants but leaves the motor running, so you stop it yourself.
Heads, repairs and running costs
Expect to budget for heads, not the handle. A single iO Gentle Care head is $15.99 at Oral-B direct, a two-pack is $29.99 there, and Target lists a black two-pack at $24.99. An Ultimate Clean four-pack is $39.99 at Target. At four heads a year that is $39.99 to $59.98, depending on where you buy. The battery, motor and seals are integrated; Oral-B does not publish a user-replacement path, and opening the handle voids the warranty. Oral-B’s service is handled online at its repair site, with a two-year limited warranty against covered defects and a separate 30-day money-back guarantee on the starter listing. The warranty excludes wear, cosmetic damage, misuse and unauthorized repair, so keep dated proof of purchase.
Reliability (what owners report)
No failure-rate data exists for this model. Owner reports from 2026 include two iO2 units from a multipack that would not power up after more than 12 hours of charging, an iO2 with no charge light that was returned, and one unit that Oral-B replaced under warranty with an iO5 after the owner submitted a receipt. A charging socket or adapter problem was suggested in some of those threads, so a manufacturing defect was not diagnosed in every case. Residue or odor around the hollow iO head is a recurring maintenance complaint across iO models, but no iO2-specific incidence was verified; owners who rinse and air-dry the head separately report fewer problems. Complaints about other iO models should not be transferred to the iO2.
Is it worth it?
At $49.99 to $50 the iO2 is a sensible buy for someone new to electric brushing who wants gentle cleaning, long battery life and simple controls. Above that it weakens: at $55 to $65 it is mediocre, especially for a one-head box, and above $70 the iO3 with its better pressure sensor (listed at $89.99) or the $49.99 Pro 1000 or Sonicare 4100 are better value. Oral-B direct lists the starter kit at $64.99 with a $49.99 sale price also reported, and Walmart at $49.99 (was $64.99). Compare replacement-head costs, not just the handle price. Wirecutter does not recommend the iO2 and names the Pro 1000 as its top pick and the iO Series 6 as the best iO value; Expert Reviews rates the iO2 3/10 and recommends the iO3 or Pro 3; Tech Advisor says it suits manual-brush switchers and would not recommend it to anyone else. Oral-B’s clinical evidence for the iO platform covers the line as a whole, not the iO2 specifically.
