Tracking and wireless
The HERO sensor tracks precisely and the LIGHTSPEED link stays stable in testing. Tom’s Hardware measured 26,000 DPI, 400 IPS and 40 G on the launch firmware, matching the manufacturer’s claims. PCMag and Tom’s Hardware both praise the snappy LIGHTFORCE switches and the low click latency.
Battery life
Manufacturer-rated battery life is 130 hours with RGB off and 37 hours with RGB on. The support spec page also lists up to 500 hours in HI mode and up to 18 months in LO mode, but the sources do not explain how those figures relate to the 130/37-hour numbers, so treat them as unexplained. RGB is the main battery drain; buyers who do not need it should consider the G502 X Lightspeed, which is rated at 140 hours.
Buttons and scroll wheel
The 13 programmable controls include scroll-wheel up, down, left and right, so the physical button count is 11. PCMag and Tom’s Hardware both report that the DPI up/down buttons beside the left click are too easy to press mid-game, which can change sensitivity at the wrong moment. The scroll wheel offers a ratcheting mode that is stiff and loud and a free-spin mode that can twitch in reverse at the end of a scroll. The DPI-shift sniper button attaches magnetically and can be flipped 180 degrees or replaced with the included cover.
Is it worth it?
Value depends on price and whether you want RGB. At or below about $130 it is a good buy for someone who wants the G502 shape, many buttons and RGB. Between $131 and $160 it is fair, but the missing Bluetooth and the omitted Powerplay puck weaken it against rivals at the same price. Logitech’s store listed the mouse at $149.99 during research, down from a $159.99 launch price, and CNET’s launch pricing was $160 for the Plus, $140 for the Lightspeed and $80 for the wired X. Buyers who do not need RGB should save about $20 with the G502 X Lightspeed; buyers who do not need wireless should save about $80 with the wired G502 X.
Which model this is
This page covers the Logitech G502 X Plus Lightspeed wireless RGB mouse, the top of the G502 X family. Manufacturer part numbers are 910-006160 (black) and 910-006169 (white), with UPCs 097855166951 and 097855167002. The mouse model number is MR0089 and the receiver is CU0021. It shipped at launch in 2022 with a HERO 25K sensor at 25,600 DPI; the September 2026 firmware update raised the ceiling to 44,000 DPI and added independent X/Y sensitivity, and the manufacturer page now markets it as HERO 44K. Owners on older firmware stay at 25,600 DPI until they update. Colorways include black and white, with White/Mint and Black/Purple added from late 2026. Do not confuse it with the G502 X Lightspeed (no RGB) or the wired G502 X.
