Problems, parts and running costs

Summary

A 1,500 W tabletop indoor electric grill with a 14-7/8 by 10-5/8 inch nonstick plate and a dial that runs from 176 to 410 °F. It heats evenly and cleans up easily, but it is not smokeless, so plan on ventilation before you buy.

Strengths

  • Heats quickly and stays hot edge to edge, with no noticeable hot or cold spots in the one hands-on test.
  • Large 14-7/8 by 10-5/8 inch nonstick plate for an indoor grill.
  • Plate and drip tray lift off and clean with a sponge, and testers found them dishwasher-safe.
  • Safety touches: a click-in control plug that will not heat when misseated, plus a heat-resistant buffer around the plate.
  • Stainless steel body and Zojirushi’s reputation for durable appliances.

Weaknesses

  • Not smokeless; the manual tells you to ventilate, and the tester saw smoke when cooking steak.
  • The 410 °F ceiling is far below charcoal or gas, so no deep char or smoky flavor.
  • No interchangeable flat or griddle plate for this model.
  • Replacement plate and control-plug prices are not published, and the one-year warranty may exclude them.
  • New US stock was thin in 2026, with first-party and third-party listings out of stock.
  • Mid-dial temperatures are guesses, because the dial marks only LOW and HI.

What it is and how it heats

The EB-DLC10 is the larger of Zojirushi’s two current indoor electric grills, alongside the smaller EB-CC15. The plate is a titanium- and ceramic-enhanced dual-layer nonstick surface measuring 14-7/8 by 10-5/8 inches, and the dial runs from 176 °F at LOW to 410 °F at HI, with no degree markings in between. The only reputable hands-on test found, a 2026 Strategist comparison, reported that it heated quickly and stayed hot edge to edge with no noticeable hot or cold spots, and that zucchini and tri-tip picked up clear grill marks. That is a single editorial comparison, not a lab test, so there is no instrumented heat-up or heat-recovery data for this model.

Smoke and ventilation

Indoor does not mean smokeless. The manual tells you to move smoke-sensitive pets and birds to another room and to open a window or run an exhaust fan, and warns that first use may produce smoke or odor. The Strategist tester saw smoke while cooking steak, though opening a window cleared it. The 410 °F ceiling is well below charcoal or gas grilling heat, so you will not get the same char or smoky flavor.

Cleaning and parts

The plate and drip tray lift off the body for cleaning. The manual calls for hand washing with a soft sponge and mild dishwashing liquid, warns against metal spatulas and knives, and says vinegar or salt-heavy sauces can corrode the coating; discoloration or peeling, it says, does not affect cooking performance. The tester cleaned both parts with a sponge without scrubbing and reported them dishwasher-safe, but the manual is the official guidance. There is no interchangeable flat or griddle plate for this model. If the coating peels and you want to replace it, the plate is part number BX138801 G-00, and a damaged temperature-control plug must be replaced with a cord or assembly from Zojirushi or its service agent. Zojirushi does not publish prices for either part.

One store reviewer uses the grill in an apartment with little splattering even for steaks, and sets it on the stovetop to make cleanup easier.

Is it worth it?

At roughly $130 to $160 the grill is fairly priced for buyers who want the Zojirushi name, the larger plate and the heat-resistant buffer around the cooking surface. Above $160 the value thins out, especially because new US stock looked sporadic in 2026: the Zojirushi store listed it at $159.99 out of stock, Arcaera listed it at $141.90 out of stock, and the Strategist saw it at $160 at Target and $165 at Home Depot. Warranty is one year, and the plate and control plug may fall under the policy’s exclusion for attachments and disposable parts.

Which model this is
