YOOPAI Premium 3D Printer Enclosure: problems, parts and running costs

Checked: 2026-10-17

Summary

The YOOPAI Premium Enclosure is a soft fabric tent for open-frame printers, and what usually goes wrong is build quality and airflow: fiberglass rods that shed splinters, a duct with exposed reinforcement wire, and a bundled fan small enough that owners add their own. Running it costs almost nothing — an illustrative $1.66 a year for the fan and LED together at an assumed 8 W, plus a one-off $23.89 if you route the hose out of a window. It is worth $61 to $75 at the manufacturer’s catalog price, and poor value above $90.

Yearly running cost

No subscription and no fuel; the printer’s own bed and hotend draw continues whether the tent is around it or not. Fan and LED wattage is unpublished, so the electricity figure is an illustration: assume 8 W combined, 20 hours a week and $0.20 per kWh, which gives 8.32 kWh and $1.66 a year, and at an assumed 20 W it would be $4.16. Optional installation materials — a 3 in duct at $9.11 and a roll of foil tape at $14.78, $23.89 together — are a one-time cost, and the worked first-year total is $95.54 at the $69.99 catalog price or $125.55 at the $100.00 detail-page figure. After that the recurring cost is roughly $1.66 a year plus an occasional coin cell. [1][2][16][17]
