Alerts and subscription
On-device AI tracking follows people, pets and vehicles without a plan. Detailed classification, such as a specific person, vehicle or pet alert, needs Cam Plus. Sound detection, geofencing and activity zones are free. The Wyze app must be version 3.7 or later. There is no e911, emergency monitoring is paid, and Apple Home is not supported.
Reliability and owner reports
Owners on the Wyze forum and r/wyzecam report disconnects with error codes 3001, 3051 and -3000, sometimes cleared by swapping the power brick and outlet. One owner reports that one of two units on the same network keeps dropping, which points to a hardware fault rather than Wi-Fi. Some owners say the camera settles after the first 48 hours. Detection can miss people walking past or lock onto vehicles instead. Live view in 4K can lag. A February 2026 firmware beta caused connectivity loss for one owner, and a failed SanDisk High Endurance card stopped the camera booting until it was removed. One owner reports fog inside the lens after rain. These are owner reports, not measured failure rates.
Install and placement
The included 6 ft cable is not outdoor-rated; outdoor installs need the Wyze Cam Universal Outdoor Power Adapter, sold separately. The older Wyze Outdoor Power Adapter uses micro-USB and needs an adapter to reach the USB-C pigtail. The mount uses a 1/4"-20 screw hole. Keep the microSD slot cover sealed outdoors and keep the lens clean. There is no RTSP firmware for this model because of secure boot; RTSP is limited to older models.

This is the Wyze Cam Pan v4, model WYZECPAN4_WHOFL, released August 2025 and Wyze’s first 4K camera. The US listing is ASIN B0F8VWZF5R. Do not confuse it with the Cam Pan v3 (1080p, 2.4 GHz only, no spotlight), the non-pan Wyze Cam v4 (2.5K), or the dual-lens Duo Cam Pan (2K).
