Summary

A compact 30-pint/day dehumidifier for bedrooms, bathrooms and small basements up to 2,000 sq ft, with ENERGY STAR 2025 certification and a hose for continuous drainage. Check the noise before you buy: Waykar claims 35 dB and Kohls claims 32 dB, and neither figure is independently verified.

Strengths

  • ENERGY STAR 2025 certification at a 165 W power draw.
  • The included 3.3 ft hose allows continuous drainage, so you can leave it running unattended.
  • Auto defrost, a washable filter and a 20-second self-dry cycle after shutdown.
  • Compact footprint, with a lift handle and smooth rolling casters.
  • A 1-year warranty that extends to 2 years on registration, plus lifetime tech support.
  • Waykar sells replacement parts through its own parts page.

Weaknesses

  • Noise claims conflict: Waykar says 35 dB, Kohls says 32 dB, and neither is independently verified.
  • The 0.39-gallon tank is small for the class and needs frequent emptying without the hose.
  • No instrumented professional test of the exact CTH30C was found.
  • Owner evidence for this model is thin; Reddit discussion covers larger Waykar units.
  • Waykar does not publish dimensions or weight; the figures come from user-contributed Q&A.

Capacity in real conditions

Consumer Reports tested the smaller PD08E-1 (15-pint) and scored it “fair”. Neither is the CTH30C.

Owner discussion on Reddit covers larger Waykar models, not this one. In r/homeowners, a user reports the 125-pint version removing about 40 pints/day at 60% RH and 68°F in a basement, quieter than a Santa Fe Advance90.

Noise

Waykar claims 35 dB on its product page; Kohls claims 32 dB. Neither figure is independently verified, and no instrumented test of the exact model was found. Treat both numbers as manufacturer claims, not measurements. One Home Depot buyer reports the unit runs all day without any noise — a single review, not a measurement.

Tank, drainage and upkeep

The 0.39-gallon tank is small for a 30-pint class unit; without the hose you will empty it often. The included 3.3 ft gravity drain hose makes continuous drainage the practical option for unattended operation. The filter is washable and reusable, and the unit runs a 20-second self-dry cycle after shutdown. Waykar uses R290 refrigerant; per the Lowes listing, the unit needs a well-ventilated room exceeding 5 m². Warranty is one year with a 2nd-year extension upon registration, plus lifetime tech support, and Waykar sells replacement parts through its parts page.

Is it worth it?

At $149.99 (Best Buy, Home Depot) the CTH30C is a reasonable compact 30-pint option with ENERGY STAR 2025, auto defrost and hose drainage. Waykar’s own site lists it at $155.99 on sale from $199.99, and Conservation Mart has it at $144.99 with a two-unit minimum; Kohls was out of stock at the time of check. In the $150–$180 range, compare BLACK+DECKER, Honeywell and Inofia 30-pint models with larger tanks and deeper review histories. Above $180 the value weakens: there is no independent test data and the exact-model owner history is thin.

Which model this is

This page covers the Waykar CTH30C, the white 30-pint ENERGY STAR 2025 dehumidifier. Waykar also sells the CTH30A with identical core specs (30 pints/day, 0.39 gal tank, 59/44 CFM, 2,000 sq ft) but markets it as “2025 ENERGY STAR Most Efficient”; the CTH30C pages do not claim that designation. Do not merge it with the PD160B (34-pint) or the larger 120/125-pint Waykar models. The US Amazon listing for this model is ASIN B0FCDZM4JL.
