Summary
A basic whole-room heater with Vornado’s Vortex Heat Circulation, a mechanical thermostat, three heat settings and a 5-year satisfaction guarantee, listed at $74.99 on Vornado’s site (Vornado, 2026). Before buying, check availability: Vornado’s own pages showed the model out of stock or discontinued at the time of research, and the medium setting’s wattage, coverage area and noise level are not published.
Strengths
- Vortex Heat Circulation with a mechanical thermostat keeps operation simple.
- Documented safety shutoffs: tip-over, blocked-airflow and 2-stage auto shutoff, plus a cool-touch case.
- Tight grille spirals plus V-0 and ETL markings on the product page.
- A 5-year satisfaction guarantee / limited warranty to the original owner, with a contactless claim path.
- Vornado publishes cleaning, storage, reset and troubleshooting steps in the manual.
Weaknesses
- Medium-setting wattage, coverage area, materials, BTU rating and noise level are not published by Vornado.
- Vornado’s pages showed the model out of stock or discontinued at research time, so availability is uncertain.
- The manual is labeled MVH+ while the product page says MVH; the difference is not explained on the pages read.
- No independent test of this exact model was found; Tom’s Guide and Wirecutter cover other Vornado heaters only.
- No owner discussions were read, so real-world noise, durability and heating speed are unverified.
- Reset steps include a bottom plunger reset and a 5–10 minute wait, which is fiddly if the unit trips.

Design and controls
Vornado MVH is a mechanical-thermostat heater: a power button, three heat settings (Low, Medium, High) and an adjustable thermostat, with no remote control. The black product page lists 120 V, 60 Hz and 1500 W on high / 750 W on low; it does not list a medium-setting wattage. The case is described as cool-touch, the grille spirals are tight, and the unit carries V-0 flame-retardant and ETL markings.
Safety and reset
Tip-over protection cuts power if the unit is tipped more than 10 degrees in any direction and restores it once the heater is upright again. If airflow is blocked, the unit shuts off automatically. Vornado documents a reset: power off, unplug, remove obstructions, wait 5–10 minutes, then plug in and power on. If the unit is on but producing no heat, a cylindrical plunger on the bottom is pressed 4–5 times, the unit placed on a flat surface, then plugged in and powered on at the highest heat setting. The manual also states ground fault circuit interrupters are not recommended and may cause nuisance tripping.
Care and storage
Weekly exterior cleaning is recommended: vacuum the front outlet grille and side air inlets, blow out the heater with pressurized air periodically, and wipe with a soft dry cloth. For storage, unplug and bundle the cord loosely, cover or store in the retail carton, and keep in a cool dry location. The manual says not to modify the product with any aftermarket accessory.
Warranty and service
The 5-year satisfaction guarantee / limited warranty covers defects in material or workmanship for the original purchaser, with repair or replacement at Vornado’s discretion. Service requires a Return Authorization from Vornado Consumer Service; a prepaid FedEx label is provided after the RA is issued, and a contactless claim can be filed at vornado.com. Exclusions include abuse, modification, improper maintenance, commercial use, unauthorized repair, shipping damage, acts of God and voltage-converting devices. No parts catalog or service manual for the MVH was found on the pages read.
Is it worth it?
No independent test data or owner feedback was read, so a value verdict beyond the manufacturer’s own copy is not supported. On paper it is a basic mechanical-thermostat heater at $74.99 direct, with documented safety and reset procedures and a 5-year warranty. Tom’s Guide and Wirecutter test other Vornado models (VH200, VH240, AVH10, TAVH10, VHEAT), and those results should not be transferred to the MVH. At $74.99 the price sits below Vornado’s $79 free-shipping threshold, so shipping may add cost unless the order is combined.
Which model this is
This page covers the 2025 Vornado MVH Whole Room Heater, black, SKU EH1-0231-06, GTIN 043765022054, with a product page published 2025-12-04. Do not confuse it with Vornado’s VMH, VH, VHEAT, AVH, TAVH, Velocity Cube or other heater lines, which are separate products. The manual and product-support PDF are labeled MVH+ rather than MVH, and the pages read do not explain whether that is a revision or a naming difference.
