The curved edge is the point

The rounded waterfall edge and pull-in cut-out are what separate this desk from a plain rectangular dual-motor frame. All three independent reviewers credit the shape with real ergonomic gains, and one long-term owner on Vari’s product page calls it “a lot more ergonomic than flat edged desks”; TechRadar reports an immediate reduction in wrist and forearm fatigue and misses the softened edge when switching back to other desks. The trade-off is usable surface, and it is not universally welcome: at least one owner found the curve left too little room to sit back from the monitor, and Vari’s own keyboard tray does not fit this desk. The top is heavy-duty laminate, not solid wood, despite finish names like Walnut and Reclaimed Wood.

Setup, error codes and upkeep

WIRED and TechRadar both assembled it in about 10 minutes, and the frame is modular. The instruction sheet documents the dual-motor control box and its per-leg ports, plus error codes an owner can act on: E01/E02 and E07/E08 point to a leg cable that is not fully seated, which a disconnect-and-reconnect fixes, and a system reset handles most remaining faults. One limit is not advertised anywhere in the listing: running the desk continuously for more than 2 minutes trips the H01 overuse code and forces a 20-minute pause. Routine upkeep is minimal — keep the grommets in place and check the leg cables if the lift stops.

The desk is the only real item in the box beyond hooks, wraps and a coaster. A lifetime warranty covers motors and electricals for as long as the original owner keeps the desk, with Vari paying shipping both ways in the first year, and returns are free within 30 days.

Is it worth it?

At the recurring sale prices of roughly $450 to $560, this desk undercuts the deeper ComfortEdge line by about $100 to $200 while keeping the curved edge, dual motors and the lifetime warranty. At the $699.00 list it is fair rather than compelling, and the discount cadence rewards waiting. The reasons to pass are specific: a need for 30-inch depth, a fourth-leg or crossbar frame for heavy monitor arms, or a lower minimum height. Open-box units are covered only 90 days, limited to electrical components and legs.
