Tineco Pure ONE S11: problems, parts and running costs
Checked: 2026-10-19
Summary
The Pure ONE S11 is a 5.7 lb cordless stick vacuum with a 450W motor and an iLoop sensor that auto-adjusts suction; it cleans carpet well but struggles on hard floors. Its weak points are the stiff brush roll that cannot be turned off, a top-heavy body and only about 11 minutes of max-power runtime against a 40-minute claim. Running costs are replacement HEPA and pre-filters and, over time, a battery.
Common problems and fixes
- Poor hard-floor cleaning — the stiff-bristle brush roll cannot be turned off (Consumer Reports lists brush on/off as No) and pushes debris forward on bare floors; the fix is the Tango variant’s LED Soft-Roller Power Brush, which base-model owners buy separately. [5][6][11]
- Short max-power runtime — TechGearLab measured 29 minutes in Low and about 11 minutes in Max, and Vacuum Wars measured about 10.5 minutes in Max, against the 40-minute Auto-mode claim; plan a short burst of full power per charge. [6][11]
- Top-heavy balance — TechRadar and TechGearLab both flag it as top-heavy and tiring in long sessions; no fix, so take breaks. [6][7]
- Squeaky wheels — reported on the power brush. [7]
- Battery degradation — some long-term owners report the battery weakening, and replacement-battery availability is a concern on older units. [9]
- Strong expelled air — air from the top vent is noticeably strong and can blow lightweight debris. [7]
- Hair tangles — long hair can tangle in the brush roll despite the included hair-cleaning tool. [6]
Parts and consumables
- Pre-filter / microfiber pre-filter — clean regularly with the included pre-filter cleaning tool; an extra microfiber pre-filter is in the box. [4]
- Detachable 2,500 mAh battery — user-replaceable; Tineco sells replacements and the pack is the practical spare for a large home. [1][4][11]
Yearly running cost
Owners spend on replacement HEPA filters and pre-filters, and eventually a battery; there are no bags to buy. No part prices were found in the sources, so a yearly dollar figure is not available.
When it is a good buy
Vacuum Wars shows the S11 at $179 (updated October 2026), Consumer Reports tested it at $179 in 2020, and Tineco US listed it at $239 in August 2026. At $200 or less it is strong value for carpet-dominant homes, $200-275 is fair, $275-350 is weak and above $350 the case is gone. Alternatives: the Samsung Jet 75, Levoit LVAC-200 and Smoture VAC01 compete in the $200-275 band, while Dyson V8/V10 and higher-end Tineco S12 models are the better hard-floor choices above $275.
