Tikom V500: problems, parts and running costs

Checked: 2026-10-19

Summary

The V500 is a budget cordless stick vacuum that won Vacuum Wars’ 2025 best-under-$100 award, with strong pickup, near-perfect hair-tangle resistance and the best filtration Vacuum Wars had seen under $100. Its weak points are short high-power runtime, a four- to five-hour charge, and measured suction and deep-carpet cleaning below the class average. Running costs are replacement HEPA filters and, eventually, a battery.

Parts and consumables

Yearly running cost

Owners spend on replacement HEPA filters (replaced every 12 months) and, over the life of the vacuum, a battery. No part prices were found in the sources, so a yearly dollar figure is not available.

When it is a good buy

Vacuum Wars listed the V500 at $79.99, down from $89.99, in October 2026, and at $79.94 on 2026-10-02; Walmart listed it at $99.99 (Tikom official store). At or under $90 it is strong value, $91-110 is fair, and above $110 it is weak because tested cordless vacuums with higher measured suction and longer runtime exist. Alternative: a Dyson V8 Animal is the better choice if you want a proven brand, though the V500 scored 30 to its 32 in Vacuum Wars’ pickup test.
