Summary

A budget robot vacuum and mop with a slim 2.99-inch body, but no LiDAR and no self-emptying base. Check the listing carefully: the self-emptying dock and LiDAR navigation often attached to this ASIN belong to a different Tikom model.

Strengths

  • The 2.99-inch body is slim enough to reach under beds, sofas and cabinets.
  • It vacuums and mops in the same pass using a 450 ml bin and 300 ml tank.
  • Four control methods, including an included remote and voice assistant.
  • The Tuya Smart app runs on iOS and Android.
  • Large wheels let it climb thresholds.
  • Runtime is quoted at up to 150 minutes in quiet mode.

Weaknesses

  • No LiDAR, no camera mapping and no app-drawn no-go zones.
  • No self-emptying base, so the 450 ml dustbin is emptied by hand.
  • Mopping is manual, with no dock washing or drying of the pad.
  • Exclusions rely on a boundary strip taped flat to the floor.
  • Tikom warns the anti-drop sensors can mistake black surfaces for an edge.
  • It can get stuck in floor gaps close to its stated 78 mm body thickness.

Full research notes and sources

The G8000 Max does not map your home. It navigates with anti-collision and anti-drop sensors and keeps out of an area with a physical boundary strip that Tikom says to lay flat on the floor and tape down. That is a real limit next to a LiDAR machine with app-drawn no-go zones, and it also means the robot cannot label rooms or learn a floor plan. Tikom’s own support content is unusually candid about where this causes trouble. Round-footed bar stools, tables, fans and lamps interfere with navigation, and the robot should not be picked up mid-run or have its dock relocated, or it loses its position and its route home.

Mopping and upkeep

This is a manual machine on the mop side. The 300 ml tank is filled by hand, the pad is washed by hand, and no dock washes or dries it. That is less convenient than a self-washing dock, but it also removes the pumps, tanks and drying hardware that are common failure points on more expensive robots. The 450 ml dustbin must likewise be emptied by hand and there are no bags to buy.

Sensor cautions and floor limits

Tikom documents several operating limits worth reading before purchase. The robot may refuse to clean certain black-coloured surfaces because the anti-drop sensors can read black as an edge. Cliff detection is less reliable when the sensors are dirty, or on dark, reflective or carpeted floors. High-pile rugs thicker than 16 mm are out of spec, and the machine should be kept away from wet areas such as kitchen and bathroom floors. None of these are defects; they are the boundaries of a budget design.

What the evidence does not show

No independent instrumented test of the G8000 Max was located, and no owner discussion was read. The specifications above are manufacturer claims from Tikom’s own pages, repeated by one non-Amazon retailer listing. Reliability, defect rates, real-world suction on carpet and real runtime against the quiet-mode maximum are unproven rather than known to be poor. Warranty length, spare-parts availability and consumable pricing could not be confirmed either, so treat durability as an open question.

Which model this is

This page covers the Tikom G8000 Max, sold under ASIN B0DV53XDDJ. Do not merge it with the Tikom G8000 or G8000 Pro, which are separate models, or with the L8000 Plus, whose LiDAR navigation and self-emptying base are sometimes mis-listed against this one.
