Summary

A three-inch slab of TEMPUR-Material that adds pressure relief or height to a mattress, sold with a removable washable knit cover and a 10-year warranty. Check the return terms before you buy: there is no sleep trial on a topper and no comfort returns.

Strengths

  • Three inches of TEMPUR-Material, the same foam Tempur-Pedic uses in its mattresses.
  • The knit cover is removable, machine washable and moisture-wicking, and fits mattresses up to 13 inches deep.
  • A four-star owner bought it to add height to a 12-inch mattress so deep-pocket sheets would fit, and reports it worked.
  • The foam itself is comfortable according to the one owner who also complained about the cover.
  • Backed by a 10-year limited warranty covering cell-structure breakdown, not just cosmetic faults.

Weaknesses

  • No sleep trial and no comfort returns; the 90-night trial applies to mattresses only.
  • No independent instrumented test of this exact topper exists.
  • An owner reports the cover slips under sheets, unlike the 3-inch Adapt topper’s corner straps.
  • An owner reports the cover described as cooling was not cooling.
  • Priced within $40 of the better-equipped 3-inch Adapt topper.
  • Firmness and foam density are unstated, so you cannot compare it on paper.

Fit, cooling and the return trap

The manufacturer lists queen at 59 x 79 inches and adds that individual topper dimensions may vary, while retailer copy for Tempur-Pedic toppers uses 60 x 80 inches for the same nominal size. One owner of this exact model found it a little larger than a Tempur-Pedic mattress of the same size, which they did not expect. If exact fit over a mattress edge matters, measure before ordering.

Cooling is the other gap. The product page calls the cover cool-to-the-touch and moisture-wicking, but the three-star owner review on that same page is titled “The cooling cover over the 3” tempurpedic pad is not cooling." There is no cooling upgrade offered for this model, while the Adapt line adds one for $60. Independent testing of TEMPUR-Material elsewhere lists heat retention as the foam’s consistent drawback, and the Cloud mattress scored 5/10 for temperature control. Nothing from that testing measures this topper, so treat it as the most likely disappointment rather than a measured result.

The term that matters most is the return policy. The product page states returns are not accepted because of the personal nature of the product, and the brand’s policy page places toppers in the accessories category, where returns are allowed only if the item arrives damaged or has a defect. The 90-night sleep trial is for mattresses. You are choosing a foam product you cannot sample and cannot send back for comfort.

Warranty and upkeep

The 10-year limited warranty covers a physical flaw that splits or cracks the material and deterioration of the cell structure that stops it returning to shape. It excludes the normal increase in softness that does not affect pressure relief, and it excludes comfort preference. Repair or replacement is at Tempur-Pedic’s option and at a handling cost to the buyer, and a replacement requires surrendering the original. Purchase from an unauthorized reseller voids it. In practice the warranty protects against foam breakdown, not against the topper feeling softer over the years.

Upkeep is light. Wash the cover cold and air dry it; never wash or dry clean the foam core. Open the compressed package within 30 days of receipt. There are no consumables and no replacement parts, and no separately sold replacement cover for this model was found.

Is it worth it?

The case for this topper rests on the manufacturer’s claims. At $234 during the promotion running in October 2026, or $274 list (Tempur-Pedic, October 2026), it costs about $70 to $115 more than the 2-inch Cloud topper, which is listed at $159 to $164, and sits within $40 of the 3-inch Adapt at $259, which adds corner straps and a published firmness. Below about $200 it becomes defensible on the material and the warranty alone. At the list price, the Adapt is the better-documented buy.

Ownership cost is essentially the purchase price. There are no filters, pods or subscriptions, so the only recurring cost is replacing fitted sheets that no longer reach over a deeper sleep surface.

Which model this is

This page covers the TEMPUR-Cloud 3" Topper, a separate product from the 2-inch Cloud topper and the 3-inch Adapt and Adapt + Cooling toppers that Tempur-Pedic still sells side by side. Both the 3-inch Cloud and the 3-inch Adapt are three inches of TEMPUR-Material, so retailer copy quoting “3 inches of TEMPUR-Material” does not tell you which one is on the shelf. The US listing for this model is ASIN B0GXLNZDTS.
