Problems, parts and running costs

Summary

True-wireless earbuds with 13 mm drivers, a 470 mAh case that charges wirelessly and by USB-C, and a 60-hour combined playtime figure, aimed at buyers who want a cheap backup or workout pair. Check the price before you buy: the brand’s own store lists this model at $49.99, while the same listing has been posted by community sellers for $22.74–$24.66.

Strengths

  • Two independent hands-on tests cover this exact model, rare for a budget earbud.
  • Measured runtime lands near the printed claim, and the 60-hour total held up over a week of normal use.
  • The LED display shows case charge and each bud’s charge as percentages and bars.
  • Bluetooth pairing is one-step via a hall switch and reconnects when the case opens.
  • Comfort and fit draw praise, including from owners with smaller ears.
  • The CVC microphone is clear enough for calls in moderately noisy rooms.

Weaknesses

  • No active noise cancellation; isolation is only what the ear tips block, so they are unusable in loud places.
  • Audio occasionally drops out when paired to a laptop while phone connections stay stable.
  • Volume steps are uneven, with the second-lowest setting too loud and the next one down too quiet.
  • The case’s glossy LED display scratches easily and the case is not water resistant.
  • Measured earbud runtime is about 5.5 hours against the printed 6.
  • Touch controls can register unintended input when a bud is adjusted in the ear.

Sound and calls

Both independent testers found the sound clear across the range with no clipping at high volume, and the 13 mm drivers give decent bass and clear mids rather than studio-grade detail. Bass can get strong enough to interfere with the mid frequencies at times. The CVC microphone is the weak link: Tech-Legend called it unremarkable but adequate for conversation, while bestbudgetearbuds found the other party heard them clearly even in moderately noisy environments. There is no active noise cancellation at all, so the only isolation is whatever the ear tips physically block.

Battery life and charging

The 60-hour figure is combined earbuds-plus-case, not runtime per bud. The box prints 6 hours per earbud at AAC, default setting and 50% volume, and the 470 mAh case adds roughly four recharges. Tech-Legend measured about 5.5 hours per charge and a case charge of no less than 1.5 hours; bestbudgetearbuds measured about 6 hours per bud and four full recharges, and found the 60-hour total held up over a week of normal use. USB-C charging is faster than the wireless pad for a quick top-up, and the pad is optional because charging is built into the case.

Fit, controls and what to watch

The buds weigh 3.9 g each and the case 26 g, with three ear-tip sizes in the store copy, though the photographed box listed two pairs; package contents vary by market. Hall-switch pairing reconnects the buds when the case opens, and touch controls handle music, volume, calls and the voice assistant, but they are sensitive enough to skip tracks or trigger the assistant when a bud is adjusted. Buyers report laptop audio dropouts that phone connections do not produce, and volume levels that shift between devices. The case’s glossy LED display scratches easily, so keep it away from abrasive pockets. The buds handle sweat and light rain to the IPX5 claim, but the case is not water resistant and neither is meant for swimming.

The brand’s own store lists this model at $49.99 in one colourway, and Tech-Legend’s December 2024 review made value its central argument at around $50. Community deal posts for the identical listing show $22.74 in March and April 2024 and $24.66 in June 2026, against a reference price that the seller cut from $50 to $36. At $23–$25 this is a defensible backup, gym or travel pair. At $49.99 the same hardware competes with better-tested models, and the buyer is paying mainly for the display and wireless charging while accepting a scratch-prone case, no ANC and a serviceable microphone. Keep the return window either way: no long-term defect data for this model is published, and the measured runtime is already below the printed claim.

Which model this is

This page covers the TAGRY X08, the model behind the long listing title “TAGRY Bluetooth Headphones True Wireless Earbuds 60H Playback LED Power Display Earphones with Wireless Charging Case IPX5 Waterproof in-Ear Earbuds with Mic for TV Smart Phone Laptop Computer Sports”. The ASIN is B09DT48V16. “T13” is not this product. Do not merge it with TAGRY’s separate 120-hour/IPX7 model or the brand’s over-ear headphones.
