Summary
A premium Xbox and PC wireless controller with Hall Effect sticks and triggers, a QuickSwitch dock that connects to both platforms, and a hot-swappable battery system. Check platform fit and price before buying: it does not support PS5 or Switch, and the MSRP is $259.99.
Strengths
- Hall Effect sticks and triggers resist drift and feel precise.
- Hot-swappable batteries give zero-downtime play and share cells with Arctis headsets.
- QuickSwitch dock connects to Xbox and PC at the same time.
- OLED display handles profile switching and settings on the controller.
- 8 on-board profiles and magnetic swappable thumbstick tops.
- 1000 Hz polling on PC for low input latency.
Weaknesses
- $259.99 MSRP is the highest in its tested set.
- Hall Effect rather than TMR sticks at this price.
- Only 4 extra back buttons against 6 on rivals.
- Back paddles are non-removable and need more actuation force.
- No PS5 or Nintendo Switch support.
- Thin, narrow grips and bottom-placed Pause/Menu buttons bother some hands.

Battery life and the dock
The difference comes from measurement method; actual per-battery life lands around 12–16 h. The “infinite power” system requires a manual swap, it is not automatic. The dock is the only wireless link, so there is no separate USB receiver. Batteries are shared with SteelSeries Arctis headsets, which is a real advantage if you already own them.
Ergonomics and buttons
Reviewers found the sticks and triggers responsive, and the build sturdy and premium. Grip comfort splits by hand size: Tom’s Guide found the grips thin and narrow for large hands, and GamesRadar found the back paddles need more force than rivals. Pause and Menu sit at the bottom of the controller rather than near the top. Magnetic thumbstick tops are a quality-of-life win, though Razer warns magnets near Hall sensors could affect calibration; reviewers did not see issues.
Is it worth it?
No PS5 or Switch support; it targets Xbox and PC. Reviewers judge it a good controller whose value is undermined by price; at $200 or below it would be a strong recommendation. Recommended now mainly for existing SteelSeries headset owners who value battery ecosystem integration; others should wait for a price drop. IGN’s final verdict is still pending. SteelSeries lists it at $259.99 in black or white; Best Buy lists the black at $259.99; no discounts were found in the sources.
