Summary
Budget true wireless earbuds from 2019 with IPX7 water resistance, aptX and 40 hours of total playtime. Check the controls before buying: the physical buttons take real force to press and push into the ear.
Strengths
- IPX7 lets the earbuds survive brief submersion of up to 30 minutes; the case does not.
- aptX gives Android owners better audio than AAC alone.
- USB-C charging with a 10-minute top-up for an hour of listening.
- Four microphones and cVc 8.0 voice processing for calls.
- The physical buttons are a plus if you dislike touch controls.
- Mono mode lets either earbud work alone.
Weaknesses
- The buttons take real force to press and are uncomfortable against the ear in testing.
- No active noise cancellation and poor isolation, so outside noise gets through.
- No multipoint, so switching devices means reconnecting by hand.
- No wireless charging, and the box has no carrying pouch.
- Microphone quality splits testers: fine for casual calls, poor for professional use.
- Sold out on Soundcore’s US store, which may shorten support and spare-part life.

Controls and comfort
The single button on each earbud is the main talking point and the main gripe. SoundGuys found the buttons “incredibly difficult to press” and painful against the outer ear, with the right one harder than the left, and scored comfort 4.7 out of 10. Consumer Reports saw the same pressure pushing the earbuds deeper into the canal on the related Life P2i. The workaround is to brace the base of the stem with one finger while pressing. Owners who like hard controls rate them highly; owners who wanted touch do not.
Battery, charging and codecs
Soundcore claims 7 hours per charge and 40 hours total with the case; SoundGuys measured 6h 41min per charge in the lab and about 4.7 extra case charges rather than the claimed 33. Fast charge gives an hour from 10 minutes. There is no wireless charging, so you carry the USB-A to USB-C cable. On Android the earbuds use aptX; on iPhone they fall back to AAC.
Sound, calls and isolation
The graphene drivers with BassUp are tuned for bass, and CNET and TechRadar both called the sound enjoyable for the price while noting it is “only decent, not great”. SoundGuys rated isolation 2.7 out of 10, saying the earbuds can hardly filter external noise, and the microphone 5.0 out of 10, poor for professional use; CNET and TechRadar were happier with call quality. SoundGuys also found lag between a command and its execution, because the model lacks True Wireless Stereo Plus.
Is it worth it?
At its original $50 to $60 street price the Life P2 was a strong value, and TechRadar’s 2020 review noted a Walmart listing at $24.14. SoundGuys lists a $59 MSRP. The model is now sold out on Soundcore’s US store and no 2026 third-party price could be verified, so treat any listing as a clearance buy. At $30 or below the IPX7 build, aptX and 40-hour battery still compete; above $40, newer budget earbuds add noise cancelling, multipoint and app support.
Which model this is
This page covers the Soundcore Life P2, model A3919, the 2019 pipe-style earbud. It is not the Life P2 Mini, which has a smaller case, 8h per charge, Bluetooth 5.2, IPX5 and touch controls, and not the Life P2i with 28h total. The black US variant carries ASIN B08R6RZYXH; Soundcore also listed white and green variants on the same hardware.
