Summary
A lightweight wireless gaming headset for PS5 and PC, with a 2.4 GHz USB-A dongle, a 3.5 mm wired option and up to 28 hours of battery. There is no Bluetooth and no active noise canceling, and the EQ software only runs on Windows, so check your setup before you buy.
Strengths
- Very light at 260 g, with low clamp force and fabric earpads.
- The AI noise-reducing boom mic is repeatedly called clear for chat.
- 360 Spatial Sound personalisation via an ear scan.
- PS5 on-screen volume, battery and mic-mute status.
- 3.5 mm wired option alongside the 2.4 GHz dongle.
Weaknesses
- No Bluetooth and no active noise canceling.
- Wireless needs the included USB-A dongle, which is awkward for USB-C-only machines.
- INZONE Hub is Windows-only, and its EQ and spatial settings do not transfer to PS5 play.
- The boom mic is not detachable, so it is a desk headset.
- Full charge takes about 3–4 hours.
- Some sessions bring heat and cushioning irritation, and bass can flatten in bass-heavy games.

Comfort and battery
The H5 is one of the more comfortable headsets in its class: 260 g, low clamp force, fabric earpads and a padded headband. Battery is the other strong point. Sony rates it at 28 hours, SoundGuys measured 33 h 23 min, and a full charge takes about 3.5 hours, though TechRadar observed closer to 3–4 hours. A 10-minute quick charge gets you about 3 hours.
Software and platform limits
The headset connects over 2.4 GHz through a USB-A dongle with a PS5/PC switch, or over a 3.5 mm cable. There is no Bluetooth and no active noise canceling; isolation is passive, and SoundGuys measured mid-frequency noise around 1 kHz as roughly 50% quieter and high frequencies about 90% quieter. The INZONE Hub software — EQ, sidetone, dynamic range and the ear-scan spatial personaliser — runs only on Windows 10 or later, and its settings do not transfer to the headset for PS5 play. So PS5-only players get fewer of the advertised features than PC players, and the fixed mic rules the H5 out for on-the-go use.
Is it worth it?
Sony’s US store lists the H5 at $129.99 against a $179.99 list price, matching the $128–129 street deals that Tom’s Guide and GamesRadar recorded. The launch MSRP was $149.99, and TechRadar found $178 retailer listings in 2024. Under roughly $130 it is strong value; between $131 and $150 it is fair, mainly for people who use both a PC and a PS5 and will actually run INZONE Hub; past $170 it is poor, which is where IGN called it overpriced. The value sits in the comfort, battery, mic and PS5 integration rather than measured sound fidelity.
Which model this is
This page covers the INZONE H5, model WH-G500, sold in white (WH-G500/W) and black (WHG500), and developed with the esports team Fnatic. It sits in the INZONE line between the budget H3 and the premium H7, and it is not the same as the H7 or H9 (which add Bluetooth and noise canceling), the open-back H6 Air, or the INZONE Buds. The wireless dongle is model YY2979. The US listing is ASIN B0CJH8PSBS.
