Secretlab Titan Evo Jinx Gaming Chair: Review, Pros & Cons

Summary

The Secretlab Titan Evo Jinx Edition is a League of Legends/Arcane special edition of the Titan Evo 2022 chair, sold only in Jinx-themed blue-and-pink NEO Hybrid Leatherette. It matches the standard Titan Evo feature for feature — 4-way L-Adapt lumbar, 4D armrests, magnetic head pillow, 165-degree recline — so pick your size carefully: there is no seat depth adjustment and the foam is very firm.

Strengths

The 4-way L-Adapt lumbar adjusts both height and firmness from dials, no strap pillow required.
Magnetic CloudSwap armrest tops swap out by hand when they wear.
Steel frame and aluminum wheelbase; reviewers report no creaking or wobbling.
The pebble seat base centers you and accommodates crossed-leg sitting.
Assembly takes about 20 minutes with the included tools.
The blue-and-pink Jinx palette and Fishbones embroidery stand out among gaming chairs.

Weaknesses

The cold-cure foam is very firm out of the box and stays firm; IGN found it unchanged after two years of daily use.
The leatherette is not breathable — WIRED reports lower-back heat buildup within an hour on a hot day.
There is no seat depth adjustment, so the size you pick is the size you live with.
The magnetic pillow’s attachment area is small and it can be knocked loose.
The recline can feel jerky or ratchet when you lean back with the lever.
Reddit owners are divided: some love the chair, others report comfort and customer-support problems.

Comfort and the foam

Two things define sitting in this chair: firm foam and a warm seat. The cold-cure foam is jarring at first, in WIRED’s words, but supportive; IGN’s two-year update still found it surprisingly firm after daily use. Because NEO Hybrid Leatherette does not breathe, WIRED measured noticeable lower-back heat within an hour on a hot day, and PCMag warns that faux leather is vulnerable to cat claws. If you want a plush, sinking seat, this is not it.

Lumbar, armrests and pillow

The L-Adapt system is the chair’s core feature: a built-in lumbar pad that moves up, down, firmer and softer from two dials, so no strap-on pillow is needed. Tom’s Hardware names the tradeoff — if you want extreme lumbar support, you may miss a detachable pillow. The 4D armrests (up/down, left/right, forward/back, angle) use a full-metal mechanism, and their tops swap magnetically. The memory-foam head pillow attaches without a strap, but PCMag, WIRED and Tech Advisor all note it can be knocked loose because the magnetic area is small.

Build, assembly and warranty

The steel frame and ADC12 aluminum wheelbase draw consistent praise for solid construction with no creaking or wobbling. Assembly is straightforward at about 20 minutes with the included tools. The warranty runs 5 years: 3 years base plus a 2-year extension that requires registering the product and sharing a photo on social media. CloudSwap armrest tops are the wear part you can replace at home; PCMag notes armrests are a common wear point over time. Secretlab rates NEO Hybrid Leatherette as 12x more durable than regular PU leather, and IGN reports the upholstery still looked great after two years of daily use.

The Jinx Edition launched in November 2021 at $429–$499 depending on size; WIRED’s 2021 review listed $429 Small, $449 Regular and $499 XL. Prices climbed with supply-chain costs: IGN’s 2024 update lists the standard Titan Evo 2022 in NEO Hybrid Leatherette at $534 Small, $549 Regular and $584 XL, and PCMag’s 2022 numbers were $549 for S/R leatherette, $569 for S/R fabric, $599 for XL leatherette, with NAPA leather at $899. Those are prices for the standard chair, not the Jinx SKU, and Secretlab’s direct pricing for special editions varies. Running costs are armrest-related: CloudSwap tops replace by hand when worn, and Tech Advisor lists optional PlushCell memory-foam armrests at around $79. At launch pricing this is a feature-rich chair; at the standard Titan Evo’s 2024 prices it is a tougher sell against both premium and budget alternatives.

Which model this is

The Jinx Edition was announced November 8, 2021 alongside the Netflix series Arcane. Mechanically it is identical to the standard Titan Evo 2022 in NEO Hybrid Leatherette; it is not the Titan Evo Lite, Titan 2020, Omega 2020 or another special edition, and this SKU comes in leatherette only. The US Amazon listing is ASIN B0BCH1YL8S.
