Sceptre 24-inch Curved Gaming Monitor (1500R, 1080p, 75Hz): problems, parts and running costs

Checked: 2026-10-20

Summary

The 1500R 24-inch Sceptre is a 75Hz 1080p VA panel whose real problems are the 75Hz ceiling, ghosting in dark fast-moving scenes and a model family so alike that buyers can end up with the older 1800R version that has one HDMI port and no Adaptive Sync. Running cost is close to nothing beyond electricity, since the monitor ships with a power cable, adapter and HDMI cable and has no consumables. It is a reasonable buy as a second or office screen under about $110, and poor value above $150, where 144Hz panels are the fairer comparison.

Common problems and fixes

Parts and consumables

Yearly running cost

Close to nothing beyond electricity. There are no consumables, no subscriptions and no service plan; the box contains a power cable, an AC adapter and an HDMI cable, so nothing else has to be bought after purchase. The only running cost is the electricity for the panel itself, which the spec sheet puts at up to 34W from the 12V DC 3A adapter, and the checked sources give no measured draw in normal use, so no yearly figure can be computed from them. When it is a good buy

That same review site carried the C248W-1920RNT in its sub-$100 guide until it removed it on 17 April 2025, which is the price band this model belongs in. [11]
