Summary
A 64.5 g aluminum adapter on a 6.6-inch cable with one HDMI port for a single 4K@60 display, gigabit Ethernet, two 10 Gbps USB-A ports, a micro/SD reader and a USB-C pass-through port that takes up to 100 W but delivers at most 80 W to the host. Check the generation before you buy: this is the 100 W model, not the older 60 W version.
Strengths
- Compact aluminum body at 64.5 g.
- Two 10 Gbps USB-A ports for fast peripherals.
- Gigabit Ethernet port for wired network.
- UHS-I micro/SD card reader.
- Single 4K@60 HDMI port for one external display.
- 2-year warranty from Satechi.
Weaknesses
- USB-C port is pass-through charging only, not for data.
- USB-A ports do not support fast charging.
- HDMI supports one display only.
- Shared host bandwidth limits throughput.
- Runs somewhat warm when HDMI is in use.
- No charger included; you need a 100 W or higher GaN charger to get 80 W to the host.

Single-display hub
This adapter is designed for a laptop with one external monitor. The HDMI port drives only one 4K@60 display; dual-monitor setups are not supported. The USB-C port cannot carry data and is purely for pass-through charging. If you need two displays, a larger dock or hub is required.
Charging behavior
The headline 100 W refers to input capacity, not what reaches your device. The adapter uses about 15 W for itself, so a 100 W charger delivers at most 80 W to the host. Apple chargers give up to 74 W, and Satechi recommends GaN chargers for the best performance. Dual monitors or power-hungry devices can drop below that output.
USB-A and card reader
Both USB-A ports are USB 3.2 Gen 2 at 10 Gbps, but they are not designed for fast charging. You can connect external drives, keyboards, mice and other peripherals, but don’t expect quick power delivery. The micro/SD reader supports UHS-I speeds up to 104 MB/s, but not UHS-II.
Materials and build
The adapter uses an aluminum enclosure with a braided cable and reinforced neck. The black PVD finish is described as even, and the cable is double-braided but stiff. The RJ45 door requires some force to open. No user-serviceable parts were found.
Is it worth it?
At $79.99 with a 2-year warranty, this is a slim travel hub for a single-monitor laptop setup with wired Ethernet. It does not suit dual-monitor or power-hungry workflows. The older 60 W model is more limited, so verify the generation on the box or packaging.
Which model this is
This page covers the current 100 W generation (ST-P7SM Space Grey, ST-P7SS Silver, ST-P7SK Black). The earlier 60 W version passed at most 60 W to the host, and the current generation adds a braided cable with a reinforced neck. Do not confuse this with Satechi’s 4-port or 6-port multiport adapters.
