Summary
Check your TV before you buy: Q-Symphony and SpaceFit Sound Pro only work with compatible Samsung TVs, and Tom’s Guide found SpaceFit non-functional on a 2025 Samsung OLED.
Strengths
- RTINGS rates it 7.7/10 with very good default tuning and clear dialogue from the discrete center channel.
- Dolby Atmos and the rest of the Dolby suite are supported, with some height effect.
- A 7-band EQ plus graphic EQ presets let you tune bass and treble from -6 to +6.
- Q-Symphony and SpaceFit Sound Pro add value with a compatible Samsung TV.
- The HDMI input passes 4K, so a console can run through the bar.
- Owners report easy pairing with Samsung TVs, strong bass and good value on sale.
Weaknesses
- No DTS:X bitstream support despite DTS Virtual:X marketing; only standard DTS.
- Surround is downmixed without rear or side-firing drivers; true surround needs the $149 SWA-9250S kit.
- Wireless audio is Bluetooth-only, with no Wi-Fi, AirPlay or Chromecast.
- No app support; all control is via the remote, and EQ access is hard to find.
- SpaceFit Sound Pro and Q-Symphony work only with compatible Samsung TVs, and SpaceFit failed on a 2025 OLED in testing.
- HDMI audio latency is slightly elevated; TV A/V settings may be needed.

Sound quality
RTINGS scored the HW-Q600F 7.7/10 under Test Bench 1.3, crediting very good default tuning, balanced stereo and center response, and retained dynamics. Dialogue is its strength: the discrete center channel and balanced frequency response keep voices clear and natural, with a Voice Enhance mode available. Music is good, with ample boom on kick and clear vocals, though the soundstage is not especially wide. Movies are decent: Dolby Atmos adds some height, but RTINGS found it a little bright, and surround formats are downmixed without rear or side-firing drivers. Tom’s Guide, testing with a Samsung S95F OLED, described floor-shaking bass and crisp dialogue, with surround mode giving a convincing cinema effect, but limited Atmos height on jet flyover scenes and limited instrumental separation in music.
TV compatibility and features
Q-Symphony and SpaceFit Sound Pro are exclusive to compatible Samsung TVs, and Tom’s Guide found SpaceFit Sound Pro did not work even on a 2025 Samsung S95F OLED. On non-Samsung TVs these features do not apply. The bar has no app support; Samsung support confirmed on the product page that HW-Q600F does not work with the SmartThings app and provided manual adjustment steps. Owners on Samsung’s product page report clear dialogue, strong bass, easy pairing with Samsung TVs and good value on sale; complaints include hard-to-find EQ controls, no SmartThings support and disappointing subwoofer bass in at least one case. Those reviews are incentivized, so treat them as signals rather than prevalence estimates.
Inputs, latency and wireless
Connectivity is HDMI eARC to the TV plus one HDMI input with 4K pass-through, optical digital, USB-A (service only) and Bluetooth. There is no Wi-Fi; wireless audio is Bluetooth-only, so no AirPlay or Chromecast. RTINGS found audio latency over HDMI slightly elevated, and TV A/V settings may be needed to compensate. No measured latency figures were captured.
Is it worth it?
Samsung lists the HW-Q600F at $699.99; SpeakerDecision lists $698, CE Critic $549.99 and Sound Review Hub about $479.99. At the discounted band of $479.99 to $549.99 it is good value; at the $699.99 list price, buyers wanting true surround, DTS:X, Wi-Fi or an app should compare higher-tier Samsung models or bars that include rear speakers. The case for it rests on the 3.1.2 layout, Q-Symphony with a Samsung TV, SpaceFit Sound Pro and RTINGS’ very good default tuning. Adding the SWA-9250S rear speaker kit costs about $149. Samsung offers Care+ extended coverage on the product page.
