Summary

A mid-tier LiDAR robot vacuum and mop with a bagged auto-empty dock and a 10,000 Pa manufacturer suction rating. Check the feature gaps before you buy: there is no obstacle avoidance, the mop does not lift over carpet, and the dock does not wash the pad.

Strengths

  • Measured suction of 2.24 kPa, far above the 0.83 kPa test average.
  • Navigation efficiency of 0.83 m²/min, above the test average.
  • Coverage of about 1,060 sq ft per charge, above average.
  • Dried-on stain removal of 158 against a 93 test average.
  • LiDAR mapping plus a bagged auto-empty dock at entry-level pricing.
  • Multi-level mapping and a full app with scheduling, no-go zones and no-mop zones.

Weaknesses

  • 43% main-roller hair wrap against a 38% average, worse than typical.
  • Pet-hair pickup of 79%, only around the 81% average.
  • Leaves 2 g of residual water after mopping, about double the average.
  • No obstacle avoidance, so floors must be cleared before each run.
  • No mop lifting and no dock pad washing, so mixed floors need manual pad handling.
  • Battery efficiency below average, and the 3.90-inch body will not fit under low furniture.

Cleaning performance

Independent instrumented testing is the strongest evidence available. At max power the robot measured 2.24 kPa of suction against a 0.83 kPa category average, and navigation efficiency was 0.83 m²/min against a 0.70 m²/min average, with estimated coverage of about 1,060 sq ft per charge. Those are real advantages over similarly priced robots with weaker navigation. The limits show up on pet hair and hair wrap: flattened pet-hair pickup measured 79% against an 81% average, embedded-sand carpet deep clean matched the average at 75%, and the 7-inch hair-wrap test measured 43% on the main roller against a 38% average, worse than typical and a direct check on the anti-tangle marketing.

Mopping and water

Mopping is the strongest surprise. Dried-on stain removal scored 158 against a 93 test average. That result came with 2 g of water left on the floor versus a 1.01 g average, and the score barely changed across all three water-flow settings, so the selector is not a meaningful intensity control and the leftover water is a streaking risk on some floors. There is no mop lifting, so the pad must be detached before carpet runs, and the dock does not wash or dry the pad; it must be washed by hand.

Competitive position

The head-to-head that matters is inside Roborock’s own lineup. The same lab’s best budget pick, the Roborock Q10 S5+, uses the same auto-empty dock and 2.7 L bag but measured 96% on carpet deep clean against this model’s 75%, 96% on pet hair against 79%, 100% hair removal against 43% wrap, and left 0.5 g of water against 2 g, while adding structured-light obstacle avoidance and automatic mop lifting. The Q7 M5+ is competitive on rated suction and slightly better navigation efficiency only. Buyers should treat it as the cheaper option only when it is clearly cheaper than the Q10 S5+.

Which model this is

This page covers the Roborock Q7 M5+ Robot Vacuum and Mop with Auto-Empty Dock, sold in the US in black or white. The Q7 M5 without the Plus uses the same robot but a much smaller dock, and the Q7 L5 / Q7 L5+ are separate cheaper models with 8,000 Pa suction, so they must not be merged with this 10,000 Pa machine. The Q7 Max+ and Q5 Max+ are different products. This listing is ASIN B0DWX69JVG.
