Redragon K719 PRO: problems, parts and running costs
Checked: 2026-10-19
Summary
The K719 PRO (sold as Galatin Pro K719 in the US) is praised for its typing feel, sound and build, but its wireless side is the problem: Bluetooth drops when the PC sleeps and does not come back, and battery life is under 4 hours with RGB on. Running costs are just the electricity to charge the 4000 mAh battery — no consumables, no subscription. At its $79.99 list price it makes the most sense if you plan to use wired or 2.4 GHz mode most of the time.
Common problems and fixes
- Bluetooth dies after PC sleep — CGMagazine found the connection ends when the PC sleeps and does not reconnect on wake, leaving you to plug in or reach for the 2.4 GHz dongle before you can log in. If you need Bluetooth daily, test it during the return window. [1]
- Battery life under 4 hours with RGB on — charging is slow as well, and no battery-off figure has been published. [1]
- Dull backlight — the opaque PBT keycaps keep the RGB looking washed out even at full brightness. [1]
- USB-C port on the left side — inconvenient for cable management along the back edge of a desk. [1]
- Custom GIF upload failed in testing — the display’s headline software feature did not work for CGMagazine, and the software’s screen section is awkward, with no drag-select for multiple keys. [1]
- No polling rate or latency figures — Redragon publishes none, so wireless performance cannot be compared against a spec sheet. [2]
Parts and consumables
- Mint Mambo linear switches — custom Redragon switches, rated 2.0 mm actuation travel, 40 gf actuation force and 3.60 mm total travel; the hot-swap sockets take 3-pin and 5-pin switches, and 4 spare switches come in the box. No aftermarket switch pricing was reported. [2]
- OEM profile PBT keycaps and puller — the stock caps are PBT, which resists shine, and a keycap/switch puller is included. [2]
- Factory-lubed stabilizers — only the spacebar needed minor extra lube in testing. [2]
Yearly running cost
No recurring costs are reported: no consumables and no subscription. The only ongoing cost is the electricity to charge the 4000 mAh battery, which the research does not quantify. [1][2]
When it is a good buy
- CGMagazine lists the MSRP at $79.99 and Redragon’s own store lists the Galatin Pro K719 at $79.99; the EU store lists the Artemis K719 PRO at €89.99 (all prices as gathered 2026-10). At $80 or less it is strong value for the typing feel and compact layout; from $80 to $100 the Bluetooth and battery shortcomings weigh more. The board carries a 2-year limited warranty. [1][3][4]
- Alternatives named in the research are Epomaker, Keydous and Skyloong keyboards. ThePhonograph.net compared them with the K719 PRO only on display sharpness and UI, where the K719 PRO came out ahead; nothing in the research compares their wireless behavior, so check that separately before picking one for Bluetooth use.
