REDLIRO Walking Pad Treadmill: problems, parts and running costs
Checked: 2026-10-19
Summary
The REDLIRO JK08W-class walking pad is a flat, handrail-free under-desk walker with a 2.25 HP motor, a 265 lb capacity and a 0.5-4 mph range. The problems owners report are mostly manageable: recurring belt drift that self-corrects, noise louder than expected, and a deck that is short for taller users; there are also isolated reports of noise after about four months and an unresolved E05 error. There is no subscription and no mandatory consumable, so keeping it running costs only a periodic bottle of lubricant and a remote battery. It is a fair buy for walking-only use at or below about $150.
Common problems and fixes
- Belt drift to the right — after about a month of daily use the belt moved about half an inch to the right, and the drift returned after most walks. TODAY fixed it by running the pad unloaded at 3 mph for a few minutes; the outlet puts it down to her gait and an uneven hardwood floor. [10]
- Louder than expected — the pad is usable during video or TV but too loud for a speaking meeting, and no outlet has published decibel measurements for this model. Treat it as a known characteristic rather than a defect. [10]
- Deck too short for taller users — the roughly four-foot deck sits at the stride limit for a 5'6" walker, and taller buyers will be cramped. This is a design limit, not a fault; choose a longer-belt model if you are tall. [10]
- Noise after about four months — an r/treadmills owner reported a new sound roughly four months in (bought in August, noise by December); their partner disassembled, tightened and oiled the unit. [14]
- Error code E05 — one owner reports E05 persisting after troubleshooting, with the support email unanswered. The cause and remedy are not documented, so this is an unresolved fault report. [15]
Parts and consumables
- Exact-model spare parts — Redliro does not post a spare-parts list or manual download for the JK08W, so belt, motor, control-board and remote availability are unverified. [3]
Yearly running cost
There is no subscription for the exact model. The only recurring items are a periodic bottle of silicone treadmill lubricant, a remote battery and an optional floor mat to cut noise and vibration; Redliro does not publish a price for any of them. Not enough data to compute a yearly total.
When it is a good buy
Target listed it at $149.99 in January 2026 against a regular $214.27, and TODAY’s reviewer paid $200 for hers on Black Friday 2023; her research at the time put typical pricing around $250-280.
- At or below $150 it is a fair buy for walking-only, under-desk use: the specs are honest for the category, a national retailer sells and ships it, and the one-year warranty covers authorized-retailer purchases.
- $151-250 is still fair.
- $251-350 is weak for this exact model: it has no incline, no app and no handrail, and the sibling 2-in-1 is documented around $270-350 with a $479.99 list price.
- Above $350 it is hard to defend against models with real independent test coverage, longer belts, incline or handrails. Named alternatives: 265-300 lb-class UREVO, DeerRun and Redliro-senior walking pads are the better choice if belt length matters for a taller user; the Redliro 2-in-1 under-desk treadmill with a folding handrail is the better choice if you want a handrail and incline.
