Summary

A 1440p 60 FPS USB webcam with an 80-degree field of view, fast autofocus, a built-in omni-directional microphone and an integrated privacy shutter, sold at a US$99.99 MSRP. Check your lighting and your OS before you buy: reviewers found weak low-light and backlit performance, and the settings app is Windows-only.

Strengths

  • 1440p at 60 FPS capture in a plug-and-play USB 2.0 webcam.
  • Integrated physical privacy shutter that reviewers found easy to use.
  • 80-degree field of view, wider than many older 1080p webcams.
  • Decent image quality and color balance in well-lit rooms.
  • Standard 1/4-inch tripod thread and an L-shaped monitor mount.
  • Available in Black, White and Quartz.

Weaknesses

  • Aggressive autofocus that refocuses often and can leave the image soft.
  • Poor low-light and backlit performance, with no HDR support.
  • Non-detachable USB-A cable; damage means replacing the whole unit.
  • Omni-directional microphone picks up background noise and has no mute switch.
  • Settings require Razer Synapse 4 on Windows; macOS and Linux get defaults only.
  • Reviewers judged the US$99.99 MSRP weak against some 4K and budget rivals.

Image quality and autofocus

In well-lit rooms, reviewers found acceptable image quality and color balance, though not highly detailed. In low light and backlit scenes, exposure handling was poor, with visual noise and repeated autofocus hunting. The camera does not support HDR. Manual focus can be set in Synapse, but reviewers found the camera returned to autofocus when switching to other apps.

Audio, software and mounting

The omni-directional microphone is adequate for meetings but picks up nearly all background noise, and there is no physical mute switch. Full settings control requires Razer Synapse 4 on Windows; macOS and Linux users can use the camera but cannot change its settings, based on How-To Geek’s test. The L-shaped mount is non-detachable and swivels 360 degrees with slight tilt past 90 degrees; a 1/4-inch tripod thread sits on the bottom. The cable is non-detachable at 5 ft (1.5 m), so damage to it means replacing the whole webcam.

Is it worth it?

At the US$99.99 MSRP, multiple reviewers found value weak. PC Gamer compared it against 4K alternatives near its price and found it not interesting, high-quality, or cheap enough. How-To Geek found it not much of an upgrade over an older inexpensive webcam for typical calls. It is more defensible for buyers who specifically need 1440p at 60 FPS, a built-in privacy shutter and plug-and-play USB 2.0 operation, with controlled lighting and a Windows PC. It is less defensible for buyers needing low-light performance, HDR, cross-platform software control or a detachable cable.
