Summary

A 56 g right-handed wireless esports mouse for medium-to-large hands, built around an all-optical sensor, switches and scroll wheel.

Strengths

  • The right-handed ergonomic shape stays the line’s reference point for palm and relaxed-claw grips.
  • 56 g in black, with an all-optical chain: Focus Pro 45K Gen-2 sensor, Gen-4 switches and an optical scroll wheel.
  • True 8000 Hz polling works in both wired and wireless modes.
  • Up to 150 hours of battery at 1000 Hz, or about 22 hours at 8000 Hz.
  • The redesigned HyperSpeed Gen-2 dongle has three status LEDs and a weighted base.
  • Grip tape and a braided 1.85 m cable ship in the box.

Weaknesses

  • The Gen-4 clicks are widely described as loud and hollow, and PCMag lists the noisy switches as its only con.
  • The 150-hour figure is at 1000 Hz only; at 8000 Hz battery drops to about 22 hours, and one owner measured closer to 75 hours in real use.
  • No Bluetooth and no Razer Chroma RGB, so multi-device pairing and lighting are out.
  • The scroll wheel has no left-right tilt inputs and no free-scroll mode.
  • The shape suits larger hands, and reviewers call the bottom-mounted power/DPI button an annoyance.
  • The bundled cable is stiff, and the desk-dwelling dongle is awkward for laptop users.

Sensor, switches and the all-optical build

The DeathAdder V4 Pro is a right-handed ergonomic wireless mouse, model RZ01-0533, that keeps the V3 Pro’s chassis and rebuilds everything under the shell. The Focus Pro 45K Gen-2 sensor tops out at 45,000 DPI with 900 IPS tracking speed and 85 G acceleration. The main buttons use Razer Optical Mouse Switches Gen-4, rated for 100 million clicks, and the scroll wheel is Razer’s first optical encoder, which Razer says lasts about three times as long as a mechanical wheel. Full configuration, including DPI, macros and polling, needs Razer Synapse 4; there is no web-based configurator.

Battery life and polling

Razer rates the battery at up to 150 hours at 1000 Hz and about 22 hours at 8000 Hz. The 150-hour figure requires the latest firmware; early boxes printed 120 hours. Synapse’s Smart Polling Rate Switcher can drop the polling rate when you are not gaming to stretch runtime.

Click noise and owner reports

The loudest complaint is not performance but noise. PCMag’s only listed con is the noisy, hollow-feeling switches, PC Gamer calls the buttons louder than the V3 Pro’s, and multiple Reddit and Razer Insider owners say they returned the mouse over click noise. A Razer Insider owner reports scroll-wheel squeaking on a third replacement Green edition unit, and another describes the right click creaking and pinging. RTINGS rates the click noise “Quiet”, which its own commenters dispute. These are individual reports, not a defect rate.

Value and who it suits

Razer launched the mouse at $169.99 in 2025. Windows Central’s price comparison lists Walmart at $145, Best Buy at $164.99, and Newegg and Razer at $169.99.
