Summary
A quiet, wall-mountable HEPA air purifier for large rooms, aimed at buyers who put low noise, design and a five-year warranty ahead of raw cleaning speed. Check the CADR against the price before you buy: 200/193/180 CFM is modest for a $599.95 unit, and replacement filters run $95 to $105 a year.
Strengths
- Runs at 25.6 dBA on its quietest setting, quiet enough for a bedroom.
- Wall-mountable design with a 7-inch depth that fits tight spaces.
- Six-stage filtration with a choice of customized filter for allergies, dander or odors.
- Owners report six to ten or more years of trouble-free service.
- Auto mode reacts to air-quality changes on its own.
- Five-year warranty, longer than most.
Weaknesses
- Replacement filters cost $95 a year at 24/7 use, or $105 for the official kit at HouseFresh’s count.
- No Wi-Fi or app control; that is only on the SPA-780N.
- The filter-change indicator is small and sits on the side of the control panel.
- The ionizer cannot be switched off and emits trace ozone, about 0.002 ppm by Intertek’s test.
- Electronics are not user-serviceable, so a fault means a trip to a Rabbit Air service center.

Performance and room size
The CADR numbers are the honest measure here: 200 CFM for pollen, 193 for dust and 180 for smoke, from an airflow range of 58 to 218 CFM. In a 150 sq ft chamber the MinusA2 took 13 minutes to cut particles from 10,000 to 1,000 per cubic ft, then another 38 minutes to reach 100; a Winix 5500-2 took 9 and 6 minutes, a Coway Mighty 10 and 13. It cleans at the level its airflow predicts and no better.
One owner in r/AirPurifiers put the practical limit near 270 sq ft with an 8 ft ceiling, well inside Rabbit Air’s 815 sq ft figure, which assumes just 2 air changes an hour. Treat the headline coverage as optimistic.
Noise and running costs
Power draw runs 6 to 61 W, low for the air it moves.
The ongoing cost is filters. Rabbit Air lists $95 a year for 24/7 operation, half that at 12 hours a day, and HouseFresh puts the official kit at $105 a year; the company’s own comparison data adds electricity for a total near $151.58 a year. An owner in r/cigars was blunter, saying the unit “all it really does is circulate foul smelling air” in a smoking room. Odor control is where this design is weakest.
Filters, upkeep and warranty
The six-stage stack runs a washable pre-filter, a medium filter, the BioGS HEPA element, a customized filter, activated carbon and the ionizer. The pre-filter should be washed every three months, the particle sensor cleaned every three to six months, and the intake and outlet vacuumed now and then. Rabbit Air sells the replacement kit for $95.
The warranty runs five years from purchase: full replacement with shipping within the first 30 days, then repair or replacement at Rabbit Air’s discretion. The negative ionizer produces about 0.002 ppm of ozone, a trace level Intertek verified. Filter changes are the one routine job, and the indicator that tells you when to do them is easy to overlook.
Is it worth it?
At about $500 to $550 it makes sense only if quiet operation, wall mounting and the long warranty matter to you more than cleaning speed; at $600 it is hard to defend on performance alone. Rabbit Air lists the SPA-780A at $599.95 and the Wi-Fi SPA-780N at $619.95, Artist Series finishes add $20 to $40, and Sylvane and US Air Purifiers show the same band.
Which model this is
This page covers the SPA-780A, the non-WiFi MinusA2 with an infrared remote, sold in white and black and in Artist, Peanuts and Hello Kitty editions. The SPA-780N is the Wi-Fi and app version, the SPA-700A covers less area at 700 sq ft, and the older BioGS 2.0 is a different machine.
The US listing for this variant is ASIN B0057IKIZM.
