Summary

The Pure Enrichment MistAire Eva (PEHUMEVA) is a 2.8 L evaporative humidifier rated for rooms up to 500 sq ft, using a fan-driven wick filter to add moisture without the white dust of ultrasonic models. Check two things before buying: there is no humidistat to hold a target humidity, and the filter needs replacing every six months.

Strengths

  • Evaporative design adds moisture without the white dust that ultrasonic humidifiers leave on furniture.
  • Rated for rooms up to 500 sq ft, with a 2.8 L tank.
  • Four fan speeds, from Level I to Turbo.
  • A 2/4/8-hour auto-off timer.
  • Night light with 7+ colors and a sleep mode that darkens the panel.
  • A 5-year warranty, longer than average for the category.

Weaknesses

  • No humidistat, so the unit cannot hold a target humidity on its own; you set the fan speed yourself.
  • No published evaporation rate, noise level, dimensions or wattage.
  • No independent instrumented test of this exact model exists.
  • The filter needs replacing every six months, and the tank needs regular cleaning to keep mold out.
  • The antibacterial filter coating and its lifespan are not verified by any third party.
  • The 2.8 L capacity is not confirmed on the manufacturer page and conflicts with a 1-gallon retail listing.

What it is and how it works

The Eva is an evaporative humidifier, not an ultrasonic one. A fan pulls room air through a wick filter soaked in water, and moisture leaves as vapor rather than droplets, so there is no fine white dust to settle on shelves. Pure Enrichment markets the airflow as “whirlwind fan technology,” but no airflow or evaporation figure is published.

The controls are manual: four fan speeds, a 2/4/8-hour timer, and a night light. There is no humidistat, so the Eva does not read the room and adjust itself; you pick a speed and let it run. At this price that is a real omission, and it is the first thing to weigh against evaporative rivals that include one.

Filters and running costs

The antibacterial wick filter, model PEHUMFIL, should be replaced every six months. Pure Enrichment sells it for $19.99 (2026), so the schedule calls for two a year. The manufacturer lists the humidifier at $89.99, and Home Depot lists it at $79.99 (2026-10-13). The filter traps dust and pollen as it works, and the antibacterial coating is meant to extend its life, though the manufacturer publishes no longevity data.

Cleaning and upkeep

Every evaporative humidifier needs cleaning, and skipping it invites mold and slimy water. Owners of other MistAire models, the ultrasonic ones, have reported orange-yellow growth and slimy water in the tank when cleaning lapses. That is not an Eva report, but the same hygiene rules apply: empty and dry the tank, and replace the wick on schedule. Pure Enrichment does not publish a cleaning interval for the Eva.

Is it worth it?

At $89.99 direct or $79.99 at Home Depot, the Eva sits at the premium end for an evaporative humidifier of this size. What you pay for is the 5-year warranty, the 500 sq ft coverage, four fan speeds and mist-free operation. Against that, there is no humidistat, and the only third-party testing on record covers other MistAire models rather than this one, so its real evaporation rate and noise level are unknown. Evaporative rivals such as Honeywell and Vornado cover similar rooms for less and include a humidistat. Unless the warranty length and the brand are what you want, the Home Depot price is the more defensible one.

Which model this is

This page covers the Pure Enrichment MistAire Eva 4-Speed Evaporative Humidifier, model PEHUMEVA. It is a wick-filter evaporative unit and is not the same as the ultrasonic MistAire models (PEHUMIDIF, PEHUMGRY) or the MistAire Silver. The Amazon listing for it is ASIN B07YVH9V8Q.
