Summary

A compact 1,000 W electric griddle with a PFAS-free ceramic nonstick surface, built for one or two servings. Check the plastic handles before buying: owners report cracking under heat and assembly stress, and Presto’s own manual warns against overtightening the mounting screws.

Strengths

  • Adequate small-meal performance: a 2026 hands-on test cooked eggs, pancakes, grilled cheese, French toast and bacon with even heating and easy release.
  • Compact storage: the plate takes far less space than 19–22-inch griddles; owners in small apartments cite this as the main utility.
  • Thermostatic control maintains the chosen setting; the removable probe lets you wash the metal unit separately.
  • Easy cleaning when used correctly: soap-and-water immersion works with the control detached; avoid abrasives, metal tools and nonstick sprays.
  • Repairable external components: Presto sells Control Master heat control 06900 ($22.99 direct) and leg/handle kit 85716 ($13.99 for two handles) for supported series variants.

Weaknesses

  • Assembly risks: Presto’s manual warns to assemble on an elevated support and avoid overtightening screws, which can crack handles or strip threads.
  • Ceramic nonstick wear: repeated dishwasher cycles, steel wool, abrasive cleaners, metal tools, cutting on the plate, prolonged soaking and cooking sprays degrade the coating; no expected lifespan published.
  • Integrated grease trough does not pull out; draining bacon grease mid-cook is awkward — wait until cool per Presto.
  • No independent temperature uniformity or long-term coating durability measurements found for the current ceramic generation.
  • Short detachable cord restricts outlet placement; Presto allows a correctly rated extension cord with safe routing.

Handle and assembly durability

Owners and Presto’s own documentation identify the plastic handle/leg assemblies as a weak point. A verified Walmart buyer had a handle snap during a single 350°F cook; the 2026 hands-on review also describes the side handles as feeling vulnerable. Presto’s 2023 manual explicitly warns: assemble on an elevated surface so the first attached handle isn’t loaded, and do not overtighten screws — this can crack the plastic or strip threads. Periodic screw checks are advised, but stop when secure. The leg/handle kit (part 85716) is available for $13.99 direct from Presto ($9.99 at Pressure Cooker Outlet) for series 0721101/0721103.

Ceramic coating and cleaning

The current 2023 units ship with a PFAS-free ceramic nonstick finish. The matching manual (Form 72-484E) says hand-wash only — dishwasher use degrades nonstick performance and can discolor the aluminum underside. Older retail listings (Kohl’s, Office Depot) and the 2019 manual (Form 72-484D) said dishwasher-safe; follow the instructions matching your unit’s series and manual date. Presto recommends a mild baking-soda paste for discoloration over the embedded element, noting it may be grease residue rather than a defect. Avoid nonstick cooking sprays, which can leave a tacky film.

Running costs and parts

No proprietary consumables or subscriptions. Electricity is the only routine cost: maximum 1.0 kW draw while heating. An illustrative scenario — 30 minutes per use, 100 uses/year at full draw — equals 50 kWh/year, or about $10/year at $0.20/kWh (actual draw is lower because the thermostat cycles). Optional repairs: Control Master probe 06900 at $22.99 (Presto) or $22.49 (Pressure Cooker Outlet); leg/handle set 85716 at $13.99 (Presto) or $9.99 (Pressure Cooker Outlet). No separately stocked replacement griddle plate, embedded heater or grease channel found.

US listings observed October 2026 (before tax/shipping): Presto direct $47.99; Family Hardware $46.99 (another crawl showed $52.99); Hammond Hardware $52.99 special order; Office Depot $53.59; Kohl’s $58.49 regular / $46.79 with coupon; Walmart Business marketplace from $56.85.

Editorial thresholds: $40 or below is a good deal for a new ceramic 07211 with complete handles and probe. $41–49 is reasonable only if a dedicated one-/two-person surface is specifically wanted. Above $55, reconsider: Presto 07061 22-inch griddle lists at $69.99 with far more area, a removable drip tray and tool-free removable handles. At the other end, the Dash Mini Maker Griddle lists at $12.99 (sold out direct when checked) for single-item cooking but uses PTFE coating and a 4-inch surface.

Which model this is

This page covers the Presto Liddle Griddle stock number 07211 (UPC 075741072111). Presto uses service/series identifiers 0721101 and 0721103 for replacement parts — check the series marking underneath the plug guard before ordering. Do not confuse with the older pre-ceramic generation (2019 manual Form 72-484D) or the larger Presto 07061 (22-inch) and 07046 Tilt’nDrain models. No ASIN applies; this is not primarily an Amazon-catalog product.
