Presto 07211 Liddle Griddle: problems, parts and running costs

Checked: 2026-10-28

Summary

The Presto 07211 Liddle Griddle is a compact 1,000 W ceramic-coated griddle whose weak points are the screwed-on plastic handles, which crack in the heat or during assembly, and a ceramic surface that dishwasher use and metal tools will strip. Running cost is electricity only, roughly 50 kWh a year on a heavy-use schedule, which is about $10 a year at $0.20 per kWh. It is a good buy at $40 or below for a new unit, but at $47.99 at Presto direct the larger Presto 07061 at $69.99 often makes more sense unless you need the small footprint.

Common problems and fixes

Parts and consumables

Yearly running cost

There are no proprietary consumables or subscriptions, so electricity is the only routine cost. Maximum draw is 1.0 kW while the heater is on; on an illustrative schedule of 30 minutes per use and 100 uses a year at full draw that is 50 kWh a year, about $10 at $0.20 per kWh. Actual use is lower because the thermostat cycles the element off during cooking, and local rates differ. Optional repair spend is $22.99 for a replacement thermostat or $13.99 for a handle pair at current US list prices, and only if one of them fails; there is no evidence to turn those into a yearly figure. When it is a good buy

A new ceramic 07211 with complete handles and probe is a good deal at $40 or below. The $41–49 band is reasonable only if a dedicated one- or two-person surface is specifically wanted: Presto direct lists $47.99 (October 2026), Family Hardware lists $46.99 (October 2026), Kohl’s lists $58.49 with a displayed coupon price of $46.79 (October 2026), Hammond Hardware lists $52.99 as a special order (October 2026), Office Depot lists $53.59 (October 2026) and Walmart Business marketplace offers start at $56.85 (October 2026). Above $55, reconsider and buy the Presto 07061 22-inch griddle at $69.99 with Presto (October 2026) instead: it has far more area, a removable drip tray and tool-free removable handles. The Presto 07046 Tilt’nDrain BigGriddle, listed at $69.99 with Presto (October 2026), is the pick when you cook greasy meats often and want a slide-out grease tray, though it is oversized for a one-person kitchen. The Dash Mini Maker Griddle at $12.99 with Dash (October 2026) is the cheap option for a single egg or pancake, but its surface is only 4 inches and its coating is PTFE rather than Presto’s ceramic.
