Summary

A 20-inch electric griddle with a PFAS-free ceramic nonstick surface, a cast aluminum base and a cool-touch surround, sized for family batches of pancakes, eggs and bacon. Check two things before you buy: outlet reach and countertop grip, because the cord is short and owners report the unit can slide.

Strengths

  • The 10.5 × 20.5 in surface fits a family batch of pancakes, eggs or French toast.
  • The ceramic nonstick coating is PFAS-free.
  • A heavy cast aluminum base is described as virtually warp-proof.
  • The base is fully immersible for cleaning once the dial is off.
  • A cool-touch surround runs along the front and both sides.
  • The slide-out drip tray catches fat, and Presto sells replacement parts.

Weaknesses

  • No one has instrumented this exact model; the lab evidence is from its smaller and larger siblings.
  • The cord is short, so check that it reaches your outlet.
  • The slick surface and low rim can let food slide while you flip it.
  • Some owners report uneven heating and longer-term durability worries.
  • Reviewers say the griddle can slide on a countertop, and one drip pan broke.
  • Nonstick coatings wear over time.

Cooking surface and heat

Wirecutter’s 2026 guide tested the smaller 16 × 10.5 in Cool-touch model and the larger 22 in Slimline, not this one. The smaller unit heated evenly, with no more than a 50-degree variation across the surface, and reached its set temperature within minutes; the larger reached 350°F in under 5 minutes and 400°F in 7, with a 50-degree maximum variation after a 10-minute stabilization. Wirecutter calls the 07030 the slightly larger version of the Cool-touch with “the exact same design”, so those results are a reasonable signal, but nobody has measured heat distribution on the wider 20-inch surface.

Cleaning and parts

The base lifts off the counter’s concerns: with the Control Master dial removed, the whole griddle can go in the sink. The drip tray slides out for washing. Presto keeps parts for this model, including the Control Master heat control, the drip tray, the base frames, a hex screw and the instruction manual, and the manual is also listed separately. The one-year warranty matches the price class.

Owner reports

Across Macy’s, Home Depot and Walmart Business reviews, owners consistently praise the large surface, the easy wipe-clean finish, quick heating and even cooking; several call it lightweight and easy to store. The surface handles about 6–8 slices of French toast or 8 pancakes at once. One Walmart reviewer said the griddle “worked for only a couple”, with the excerpt cut off there. These are self-selected store reviews, not failure rates.

Is it worth it?

Presto sells the 07030 direct at $49.99, and retailers cluster near it: Home Depot at $44.99, Macy’s at $50.39 and Walmart Business at $58.99. That is a fair place for a 20-inch griddle with a cast aluminum base and a PFAS-free ceramic coating. Wirecutter’s tested picks are the smaller Cool-touch and the larger Slimline, so weigh whether you want this 20-inch surface against those. If you also want steaming and frying, a Zojirushi EA-DCC10 runs about $139. A Walmart reviewer picked a unit up at a $14.92 clearance price, so discounts do happen.
