Summary
A Bluetooth-connected rechargeable sonic toothbrush for children, with two modes, an app that coaches brushing and up to two weeks of battery per charge.
Strengths
- Kids respond to the Sparkly character and rewards, and parents report brushing lasts longer.
- Up to two weeks per charge, so it travels well.
- The handle keeps 20 sessions without a phone, so coaching survives a forgotten device.
- Replacement heads are easy to find in compact and standard sizes.
- The two-year warranty is longer than on many small appliances.
Weaknesses
- The handle is large for small hands, a point PCMag raised on the earlier model.
- Some children find sonic vibration uncomfortable or ticklish.
- The rubberized backs of the heads wear quickly with rough chewing.
- The battery is not user-replaceable.
- The “up to 62,000 brush movements per minute” figure is not published by Philips, and PCMag recorded 500 strokes per second on the earlier model.

Full research notes and sources
The app and coaching
The HX6321/02 is the app-connected version of Philips’s kids brush. The handle pairs with the Sonicare for Kids app, where Sparkly guides a child through a session and parents get a dashboard and brushing history. The handle stores up to 20 sessions on its own, so the app catches up the next time it is opened. A two-minute timer ends brushing on High, and quadrant pacing nudges the brush to a new part of the mouth every 30 seconds.
Battery, heads and running costs
Philips claims up to two weeks per charge. Heads should be changed at least every three months, and Philips sells exact-model replacements as compact HX6032-series and standard HX6042-series 2-packs. Wirecutter puts replacement heads at about $10 each, which works out to about $60 in the first year and about $140 across three years once the heads are counted in. Philips lists the HX6321/02 at $34.96 on its US site (Philips, 2026). The battery is not a user part.
Is it worth it?
Without that, the same cleaning comes from the Design a Pet Edition, which Wirecutter lists around $30, or the Oral-B Kids around $25. At $34.96 the HX6321/02 is fair if the coaching earns its keep; past about $45 it is hard to justify over those two.
Which model this is
This page covers the HX6321/02, sold in Aqua and Pink. It is not the Design a Pet Edition (HX3000 series, no Bluetooth), the battery-powered One for Kids (HY1130), or the older HX6311/07 and HX6351/41. The ASIN is B0BN2DK5YX.
