Summary

A 30-inch (761 mm) 1500 W ceramic tower heater with app and voice control for a small room. Check your Wi-Fi before buying: the link and the app need a 2.4 GHz network.

Strengths

  • ECO mode holds a 41–83 °F range and can be set one degree at a time.
  • The remote works within 15 ft and the tower has a built-in carry handle.
  • Child lock plus tip-over, overheat and sensor-fault shutdown codes.
  • UL listed with a one-year limited warranty on the element, motor and control board.
  • Manufacturer lists app scheduling and Alexa and Google voice control.

Weaknesses

  • The manual admits the heater cannot achieve accurate temperature control of a room.
  • Wi-Fi is 2.4 GHz only, so 5 GHz and sign-in networks will not connect.
  • In standby the app controls all functions except heating, so you cannot start heat remotely.
  • The app link drops after 24 hours idle, and the unit shuts off after 24 hours of running.
  • 12.5 A leaves little headroom on a 15 A circuit, and the manual bans power strips.
  • No independent instrumented test of this exact model exists.

Heating and modes

Pelonis rates the PSHC30DW6ABB at 1500 W, but that is only the top step. The manual documents five selectable positions: C1 fan only, ECO, and H1, H2 and H3 heat with fan, drawing 600 W, 900 W and 1500 W. The power draw is identical whether oscillation is on or off. ECO sets a target between 41 and 83 °F, defaulting to 78 °F. The manual also states the heater cannot hold an accurate room temperature, so treat the thermostat as a comfort dial, not a setpoint. The manufacturer’s “up to 300 sq ft in 35 seconds” and “ECO reduces energy use by 10%” lines have no published test method, so they stay unverified.

The smart app and Wi-Fi

The smart half runs on Midea’s SmartHome app over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only. A 5 GHz network will not work, and neither will a network that opens a sign-in page, such as hotel or guest Wi-Fi. The manual warns to turn off WLAN+ and WLAN Assistant on the phone and to add the device manually if discovery stalls, which shows pairing is the known friction point. In wireless standby the app controls everything except heating, so you cannot start the heat while away; you can only adjust it once it is already running. Voice control over Alexa and Google appears only in manufacturer marketing, and the manual never names either assistant. The wireless link also drops after 24 hours with no operation.

Which model this is

This page covers the 30-inch Smart Digital Tower Heater, model PSHC30DW6ABB. The manufacturer page’s only buy link points to the Amazon listing, ASIN B0DDBMKVN6. Other 30-inch Pelonis towers look almost identical but are not smart: the PHT30D7BBB and PHT30D7BBC list Wi-Fi, app and voice control as not supported, and the PHF15RSAPH30 is the adjustable-thermostat version. The smart model is the one with the Wi-Fi module, the 308 mm PTC element and the 0–24 hour timer.

Warranty, parts and upkeep

The one-year limited warranty covers the heating element, motor and control board, and needs proof of purchase with postage prepaid to Pelonis. Pelonis can repair or replace the unit within 60 days of receiving it. Clean the exterior with a dry cloth only, never detergents, and store the heater in the original carton. The manual says any other service must go to an authorized agent, and Pelonis publishes no spare-parts catalog for this model, so the warranty channel is the repair route. The 12.5 A draw wants a dedicated wall outlet: the manual forbids extension cords and power strips, and warns against sharing the circuit.

Is it worth it?

The case for this heater rests on the smart features, not the heat. Against the non-smart 30-inch Pelonis towers, the extra money buys app and voice scheduling, a 0–24 hour timer instead of 12 hours, and one more power step; the ceramic element, tip-over and overheat protection are the same. If you do not need Wi-Fi, the non-smart model does the same job. The catch is evidence: no outlet has instrumented this exact model, so the headline reach and savings numbers and the claimed quiet operation are all unproven.
