Summary
OVERTURE High Speed TPU 95A is a 1.75 mm flexible filament for direct-drive 3D printers, rated for 60–90 mm/s printing with a Shore hardness of about 95A. Check your setup before buying: it needs a direct-drive extruder, pre-drying at 70°C for 7 hours, and it will not run in AMS or AMS lite systems.
Strengths
- Prints flexible parts at 60–90 mm/s, faster than legacy slow TPU filaments.
- Balance of flexibility and rigidity at about 95A for functional parts such as gaskets, phone cases and dampeners.
- Clean vacuum-sealed packaging with included desiccant.
- Owners report successful prints on stock TPU presets on Bambu direct-drive printers when the filament is dry.
- At least 2x speed reported by some owners on Bambu A1 and A1 mini with the High Speed grade.
Weaknesses
- Requires a direct-drive extruder; Bowden feed paths can buckle and jam.
- Not compatible with AMS or AMS lite multi-material units.
- Moisture absorption causes bubbling, popping and poor layer adhesion unless dried.
- High Speed grade can feel firmer than standard TPU and Bambu TPU 95A HF.
- Published strength data comes from samples printed at 30 mm/s, below the recommended range.
- Stringing is the most common complaint, usually traced to moisture.

Handling and drying
TPU is hygroscopic. Overture mandates pre-drying at 70°C (158°F) for 7 hours before printing, and recommends drying fresh spools too: fresh spools commonly lose 6–8 g in 12 hours of drying. Over-drying risks brittleness, so exceeding the recommended time is not better. Store sealed with active desiccant at 15–25°C (59–77°F) and use within 1 year of receipt. Fresh spools can swell after drying, from about 65.4 mm to about 69.4 mm.
Compatibility
This filament needs a direct-drive extruder or a straight feed path; Bowden extruders are unsuitable and multi-material AMS systems jam. Value depends entirely on having a compatible setup. Purchasing for use with incompatible Bowden or AMS systems means feed failures.
Print settings
Overture’s TDS lists 200–240°C nozzle and 25–60°C bed, with cooling fan on, 0.1–0.2 mm raft separation, 1–3 mm retraction at 20–40 mm/s, and a 35° threshold overhang angle. The TDS test specimens were printed at 225°C nozzle and 30°C bed on a 0.4 mm nozzle. Store-page figures run higher than the data sheet; treat the TDS values as the reference.
Is it worth it?
At typical manufacturer pricing around $22–$35 per 1 kg spool, Overture High Speed TPU 95A offers competitive positioning for users with direct-drive printers seeking higher volumetric flow rates in flexible materials. The speed benefit is conditional: actual time savings depend on flow limits, geometry and tuning. The firmer feel may be undesirable for soft or squishy parts; standard TPU or a lower-hardness grade may suit better. Published mechanical data (tensile 27.1 MPa, elongation 301.8%) derives from samples printed at 30 mm/s, below the recommended speed range; strength at higher speeds is not established.
Which model this is
This page covers the OVERTURE High Speed TPU 95A Flexible Filament, 1.75 mm, 1 kg spool, Black (HEX #000000), manufacturer product page linked to ASIN B08BC654PS. TDS version 5.1, dated July/August 2024. Do not confuse with standard Overture TPU 95A, which uses a different formulation (standard lists 100% modulus 9.7 MPa and melt index 4.5 g/10 min, versus 14.9 MPa and 9.5 g/10 min for High Speed). Also sold in 2 kg variants and 20+ colors.
Overture’s US store prices the 1 kg spool at $24.99 (list $34.99) and the 2 kg spool at $41.99 (list $64.99); standard TPU 95A 1 kg is $22.99 (list $31.99).
