Summary
A 1.75 mm budget PLA in 29 colors, sold as 1 kg on a recyclable cardboard spool, aimed at beginners and high-volume printing. It prints cleanly at default PLA settings on common machines, but it is slightly more tangle-prone than Overture’s PLA Basic and its Vicat softening point sits near 66 °C.
Strengths
- Prints cleanly at default PLA settings on Ender 3, Bambu Lab, and Prusa machines, including at higher speeds.
- Low warp and strong bed adhesion; clean first layers without brim on basic beds.
- Vibrant, consistent color with a semi-matte finish that hides layer lines.
- Tidy, tangle-free winding with a larger inner spool diameter that reduces coil memory.
- Affordable at about $18-21/kg direct, good for practice and bulk printing.
- Vacuum-sealed with desiccant; recyclable cardboard spool.
Weaknesses
- Slightly more tangle-prone than PLA Basic, per the manufacturer’s own positioning.
- Occasional spools arrive wet, showing popping and stringing until dried.
- Cardboard spool can shed dust in some feeders and create friction in AMS-style systems.
- Color-to-color temperature variation means settings may need adjustment when changing colors.
- Heat resistance is limited, with Vicat softening near 66 °C.
- No independent instrumented test of Easy PLA specifically was found.

Full research notes and sources
Print settings and temperature conflicts
Overture’s own sources disagree on speed: the product page lists 40-60 mm/s, the TDS lists 40-90 mm/s, the cheat sheet lists under 90 mm/s, and the wiki PLA page lists 40-70 mm/s. Treat 40-60 mm/s as the conservative starting point and test up to 90 mm/s. Nozzle 190-220 °C and bed 25-60 °C are consistent across sources, with cooling fan on. Dry at 50 °C for 7 hours if the filament pops or strings.
Moisture, storage and drying
PLA absorbs moisture, and wet filament shows popping, stringing, and rough surfaces. Dry at 50 °C for 4-6 hours in a filament dryer if needed, never above 55 °C.
Cardboard spool and AMS feeders
The cardboard spool is recyclable and keeps costs down, but owners report dust in some feeders and friction or fit issues in AMS-style systems, where a printed adapter is commonly used. Overture’s newer cardboard spools are described as having rounded edges for AMS use, but Bambu’s original AMS guidance recommends an adapter for cardboard spools. A reusable master spool with refill spools is available from Overture.
Strength, heat and when to upgrade
The TDS publishes full mechanical data: tensile strength (X-Y) 44.3 ± 1.1 MPa, tensile strength (Z) 39.4 ± 0.7 MPa, elongation 5.6 ± 0.3 %, notched Charpy impact 2.9 ± 0.4 kJ/m². Review sites note Easy PLA gives up a small amount of impact strength and surface finish versus Matte and High Speed lines. With Vicat softening near 66 °C, it is not suited to hot-car mounts or repeatedly flexed clips. For functional parts under load, PLA+ or PETG is the better upgrade path.
Overture direct listed Easy PLA at $17.99 (sale) against a $20.99 compare-at price at the 2026-10-25 check. At that level it is a budget-tier PLA positioned below PLA Basic in price and slightly below it in tangle resistance. Value is strongest for beginners, prototypes, display models, and high-volume printing where finish matters more than strength. The ±0.02 mm tolerance describes filament strand diameter, not finished-part accuracy.
