Summary
The OnePlus 13R is a value flagship that launched at $599.99 in the US, sold only as 12GB+256GB with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, a 6.78-inch 120Hz LTPO display and a 6,000 mAh battery. Before you buy, understand the charging: the US box includes a 55W adapter, 80W needs OnePlus’s own dual-port brick, and a generic USB-PD charger delivers only 18W.
Strengths
- Flagship-tier Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 performance, with CNET benchmarks rivaling 2024 flagships.
- 55W SUPERVOOC adapter in the US box; GSMArena measured a full charge in 48 minutes on an 80W unit.
- WIRED confirms it works on all major US carriers.
Weaknesses
- No wireless charging, and no Qi2.
- Charging collapses to 18W on a generic USB-PD charger, well below the boxed speed.
- Owner-reported battery drain and overheating after the OxygenOS 15.0.0.840 and OxygenOS 16 updates.
- The 4,500-nit peak brightness spec was never approached in testing; the best measured was about 1,220 nits.

Charging and the US box
US buyers get a 55W SUPERVOOC adapter in the box, not the 80W sold elsewhere, and going faster means buying OnePlus’s 80W or 100W dual-port adapter separately. On a generic USB-PD charger the phone falls back to 18W; CNET measured 32% in 30 minutes, slower than a $650 Galaxy S24 FE at 25W. On an 80W unit GSMArena measured 41% in 15 minutes, 73% in 30 and a full charge in 48 minutes; PhoneArena measured 56 minutes, TechRadar 52 and Android Authority about 55. The US 55W brick will be slower than any of those.
Battery life and the update regressions
The 6,000 mAh cell is not a big jump over the OnePlus 12R despite the extra 500 mAh, and GSMArena blamed silicon-carbon charge-rate limits. Tom’s Guide measured 18:49, and TechRadar and Android Authority report two-day use in moderate use. PhoneArena’s browsing result was 18h59m and gaming 8h33m, while CNET’s three-hour max-brightness YouTube test drained from 100% to 85%. The loudest owner complaint is software: after the OxygenOS 15.0.0.840 update in July 2025, one owner’s screen-on time fell from about 18 hours to 6-6.5 hours, with heating even on YouTube, and several replies reported the same. A second wave followed OxygenOS 16 in November 2025. Nobody has published a failure rate, so treat this as a software risk to watch rather than a measured defect.
Cameras
Three rear cameras: a 50MP Sony LYT-700 main, a 50MP 2x telephoto with electronic stabilization only, and an 8MP ultrawide. Video tops out at 4K60, and the front camera records 1080p30. PhoneArena rates video 5.3/10.
Repairs, parts and running costs
OnePlus publishes US out-of-warranty repair pricing for the 13R, with a labor fee of $17.05-$76.77 depending on the repair and parts priced separately. The page’s default table shows a battery at $29 and an adapter at $34, but those rows include a 16+512GB mainboard that only exists on the OnePlus 13, so exact 13R part costs are not confirmed. Aftermarket screens exist from iFixit at €144.95. The US warranty is 12 months, against 24 in the EU.
Is it worth it?
At $599.99 or below the 13R is a strong value: measured performance near 2024 flagships, a well-calibrated 1,200-nit display and a 48-minute full charge on an 80W unit. From $600 to $650 it is still defensible, but the OnePlus 15R at $699.99 narrows the gap to current-generation hardware. Above $650 it is weak value: you are paying near current-generation money for a prior-generation phone with USB 2.0, no wireless charging, IP65 and measured throttling.
Which model this is
This page covers the US OnePlus 13R, model CPH2647, sold in 12GB+256GB in Nebula Noir and Astral Trail. It shares the OnePlus 13’s look and alert slider but uses last year’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, and it launched in China as the OnePlus Ace 5. The listing for this model is ASIN B0DP96J3KT.
