Summary
OnePlus’s 2025 global flagship: Snapdragon 8 Elite, a 6.82-inch QHD+ LTPO AMOLED panel at 4,500 nits peak, a 6,000 mAh silicon-carbon battery, a triple 50MP Hasselblad camera, ultrasonic fingerprint and IP68/IP69 sealing. Check the US fine print before you buy: 80W wired charging, no mmWave 5G, no charger in the box, and 6 years of software support against rivals’ 7.
Strengths
- Snapdragon 8 Elite scored 3,091 single-core and 9,362 multi-core on Geekbench 6, among the highest Android figures at launch.
- The 6,000 mAh silicon-carbon battery measured around 50 hours of mixed real-world use and is rated for 80% capacity after 1,600 charge cycles.
- US charging is fast: 80W wired and 50W wireless, with a full wired charge around 68 minutes on a 45W adapter in The Guardian’s test.
- IP68/IP69 sealing with wet-touch use and an ultrasonic fingerprint reader round out the hardware.
- OxygenOS 15 is smooth, and the alert slider stays on the side.
Weaknesses
- The default Photo mode over-processes: lightened shadows, toned-down highlights, added clarity. Master mode is the workaround.
- Zoom tops out at 3x optical; the 6x button is a digital crop with a noticeable quality drop.
- The US model has no mmWave 5G, unlike some competing US flagships.
- Software support ends 7 January 2031: 4 OS years plus 2 security years, behind Samsung and Google at 7 years.
- No charger in the box, and the US 80W SUPERVOOC figure is not the 100W OnePlus advertises globally.
- Battery rundown tests split: PCMag called it class-leading, CNET and PhoneArena found it weaker than the OnePlus 12.

Performance and display
CNET’s launch benchmarks put the Snapdragon 8 Elite at 3,091 single-core and 9,362 multi-core on Geekbench 6, with 3DMark Wild Life Extreme at 6,762, described as some of the highest scores seen from any phone at launch. The UI stays smooth and games like Genshin Impact run well. Reviews consistently praise brightness, color accuracy and the ultrasonic fingerprint. GSMArena’s lab tests measured 809 nits manual and 1,204 nits auto, below the peak claim but still strong, with speakers rated Very Good for loudness.
Battery, charging and running costs
The 6,000 mAh silicon-carbon pack is rated to hold at least 80% capacity for 1,600 full charge cycles. The Guardian measured a consistent ~50 hours of mixed real-world use with about 6 hours of screen-on time, and 91mobiles reported over a day on heavy settings with always-on display, 5G and 120Hz, and over two days on standby in flight mode. The Guardian’s charging test with a 45W USB-C adapter (not included) reached 50% in under 30 minutes and 100% in 68 minutes; a 100W SuperVOOC adapter did a full charge in 37 minutes. OxygenOS 15 includes a smart charging toggle and an 80% charge limit option. In the UK, The Guardian reports battery replacement costs £80 and screen replacement £280, and the battery is not user-replaceable. The phone ships unlocked with no carrier lock-in. PCMag calls battery life class-leading, while CNET’s rundown loop underwhelmed against the OnePlus 12 and PhoneArena called it good but not class-leading in its own runs; real-world endurance from other reviews lines up with PCMag. A OnePlus forum thread titled around battery complaints includes owners saying the battery became awful after three months, with replies blaming games and social apps, and a Reddit thread on battery life points to the same split.
Camera and software
The triple 50MP system with Hasselblad tuning is a marked improvement over the OnePlus 12 on paper, but CNET called the default Photo mode over-processed across all three lenses and the cameras a definite letdown, and PhoneArena found image quality no better than the OnePlus 12. CNET also caught the telephoto choosing slower shutter speeds that caused motion blur in daylight. Switching from the default Photo mode to Master mode produces more natural images, and CNET praises Master-mode output. The 3x telephoto is true optical zoom and one of the best at 3x per The Guardian, but the 6x button is a crop; its 47-48 cm minimum focus distance rules out close-ups. OxygenOS 15 is smooth but has rough edges: some text descriptions only appear in Chinese, and OnePlus AI tools are poorly integrated. Software support ends 7 January 2031, behind Samsung and Google’s 7-year policies.
Repairs and reliability
The Guardian describes the OnePlus 13 as generally repairable, with battery replacement at £80 and screen replacement at £280 in the UK; no iFixit-style teardown or repairability score was found. OnePlus’s US standard limited warranty is typically one year for the device and six months for accessories, though this could not be verified from a OnePlus US page. A January 2026 r/OnePlus13 post describes a phone bricked overnight by a forced update tied to a Qualcomm security fix, leaving the device EDL-9008-only with no fastboot or recovery path; it is a single account from a likely region-modified unit, not a US failure rate. No widespread hardware failure pattern (overheating in normal use, dead pixels, bootloops) appeared in the reviews or community material checked, and that absence is not proof of rarity. The telephoto’s slow-shutter blur and heavy default processing are the most consistent caution signals across US-relevant reviews.
Is it worth it?
US launch pricing was $899.99 for 12GB + 256GB and $999.99 for 16GB + 512GB. Tom’s Guide calls the OnePlus 13 the best Android flagship for the money, and PCMag rates it Excellent, with extreme battery life as the headline attraction. Against $999-1099 rivals, the core hardware matches or beats more expensive phones on chip, display and battery, with camera and support length as the compromises. CNET’s verdict is harsher: the phone would make more sense closer to $800, and any sustained street price below $800 improves the value case materially. Buy it for maximum speed, display quality and battery endurance per dollar; skip it if camera output, 5-10x optical zoom or the longest software support window decide the purchase.
Which model this is
This page covers the OnePlus 13 sold in the US unlocked in 12GB + 256GB and 16GB + 512GB configurations. The internal chipset designation published in lab tests is Qualcomm SM8750-AB Snapdragon 8 Elite. The US Amazon listing carries ASIN B0DP8K352S. The 24GB RAM / 1TB storage and 100W charging configurations exist only in some non-US markets, not in the US lineup.
