Problems, parts and running costs

Summary

An electric sit-stand desk sold with a separate rolling file cabinet that can be parked on either side of the work surface, built for a home office that needs paper, printer and file storage next to a height-adjustable desk. Check the height range before you buy: OffiGo’s current page and older listings give two different ranges, and the cabinet never rises with the desktop.

Strengths

  • The cabinet keeps paperwork, the printer and files off the moving surface and rolls to either side when the room changes.
  • Three saved heights and a single-motor lift replace a hand crank, with anti-collision protection the maker claims.
  • The cabinet has real drawers, a lockable file drawer and casters rather than shallow fabric bins.
  • The two-panel top is disclosed before delivery, so there is no surprise center seam.
  • Two customer reviews on OffiGo’s own site praise height adjustment, desk stability and the movable cabinet.

Weaknesses

  • The 0.6 in top is thin, and OffiGo explicitly says monitor arms are not recommended for it.
  • The cabinet stays at a fixed height while the desktop rises, so the L is not a continuous adjustable corner.
  • The rated moving load is 154 lb, and nobody has measured how this desk behaves under a heavy multi-monitor setup.
  • There are no built-in sockets, so monitors, a laptop and a lamp need a separate power strip and slack for the rising top.
  • Assembly is a two-person job; one owner on OffiGo’s site needed more than an hour on his own.
  • The hanging-file rails take Letter and A4, not Legal.

The L is two separate pieces

The work surface is a rectangular top; the L shape exists only while the rolling cabinet is parked beside it. The cabinet can sit on either side or inline, and it never moves when the desk goes up, so it works as a filing and printer station rather than a second typing surface at every height. The extra cabinet top also does not eat into the desk’s 154 lb moving load allowance, because it stands on its own casters.

OffiGo sells a separate 55-inch L-shaped desk with four built-in wooden drawers and power connections, where the corner surface adjusts as a unit. That is a different product, and this one is the version with the separate rolling cabinet. Make sure you are buying the one you want; the two share a product page and vary by size and finish, so the checkout total can change with the variant you select.

There are no AC or USB outlets on this configuration. Monitors, a laptop and a lamp need their own power strip, with enough slack in the cords that the rising top does not pull them tight.

Height range, load and movement

The maker’s updated page lists 27.6–46.5 in for the 48- and 55-inch versions, while older manufacturer references and retailer descriptions give 28.4–47.2 in. If your seated minimum or your tall-user maximum matters, ask OffiGo to confirm the revision before you order.

Underneath sits one electric motor rated for 154 lb, a listed lift rate of 20 mm/s, three height presets on the digital controller and claimed anti-collision protection. Those are seller claims. Nobody has published a measured wobble under a heavy multi-monitor setup, a measured travel speed under the rated load or a standby power figure for this exact desk.

An independent roundup of L-shaped desks mentions difficult drawer-slide instructions and some missing parts, but it does not describe its sample or its testing method, and its warranty claim contradicts OffiGo’s published five-year frame and one-year panel terms. Treat it as background, not as evidence that anything breaks on a schedule.

Assembly, warranty and parts

Both the desk and the cabinet have to be assembled, with pre-drilled holes, supplied hardware and a printed manual. The maker publishes a model-specific installation video, though a downloadable model-specific manual PDF was not confirmed. Support asks for the order number, a description and photos or video, and claims to answer emails within 24 business hours; that is a company response target, not a verified record.

The direct store accepts returns for 30 days from delivery only for unused, unassembled items in the original packaging, the customer pays the return freight on a non-defect return, and OffiGo states there is no restocking fee. Damaged or incorrect deliveries have to be reported within seven days, with photos and the packaging kept. Those are the manufacturer’s own store terms; do not assume they cover a marketplace order.

Parts are the weak spot. No public part numbers, replacement intervals or prices were found for the motor, control handset, control box, lifting column, caster set, drawer slides, lock or the panels, and generic controllers and drawer slides should not be substituted without checking dimensions and electrical compatibility. The five-year cover applies to electrical and transmission parts in the single-motor frame; panel manufacturing defects are covered for one year.

Running costs

The lift uses electricity while it moves, and possibly while it sits idle, but OffiGo publishes no measured standby wattage, no kWh-per-lift figure and no annual estimate, so any dollar figure would be invented. Usage, standby behavior and your local power rate decide the real cost, and no one has published a measured annual bill for this desk.

Nothing on this desk wears out on a schedule. There are no filters, no cartridges and no model-specific consumables, so the consumable budget is $0 a year. Electricity, optional cable accessories, wear from moving the desk and out-of-warranty repairs all sit outside that, and none of them has a verified annual figure either.

Is it worth it?

OffiGo’s own store lists the L-Shaped Pro Standing Desk with Cabinet at $299.99, and Best Buy’s black and white version of this exact cabinet-based desk, sold by AODK, was observed at $259.99 with a displayed $299.99 comparison value (October 2026). Observed retail for the matching configuration ran roughly $260–$300 across those two listings, not a multi-month average.

At $250 or below the desk undercuts both listings and is worth a look if the separate cabinet, the height range and the no-monitor-arm limitation suit your room. Between $260 and $300 you are in normal retail territory: compare freight, returns and the exact color and size selected on the shared product page. Above $300 the separate cabinet is hard to justify, because OffiGo’s distinct 55-inch L-shaped desk with wooden drawers lists for $239.99 and includes power connections, with the corner surface adjusting as a unit.

If your priority is a genuinely rising L-shaped surface and a higher load rating, the FlexiSpot E7L Pro lists at about $549.99 with three motors, a 330 lb capacity and a 25.0–50.8 in height range. That is a much higher-price design and it comes without a cabinet. A detailed Reddit account on the different FlexiSpot E7 Pro praises the frame construction but also reports chipboard chipping; it is general owner context, not evidence about the E7L.
