Problems, parts and running costs

Summary

A budget 1080p webcam with autofocus, a three-level ring light and a built-in privacy shutter, meant for video calls on a tight budget. It is sold out at NexiGo and has no independent test or owner-review corpus, so buy it only where you can return it.

Strengths

  • Autofocus at a budget-camera price.
  • Three-level touch ring light with 12 white LEDs for dim rooms.
  • Built-in slide-over privacy shutter.
  • Flexible clip with a 1/4-inch tripod thread for a monitor or a stand.
  • Optional software adds image controls and a 50/60 Hz anti-flicker setting.

Weaknesses

  • No independent test or owner corpus for this exact model, so performance is unverified.
  • Sold out at NexiGo, so remaining units come from third-party sellers.
  • No published weight and no published USB cable length.
  • The frame rate can drop below 30 fps in poor light or low bandwidth.
  • The body can heat up during long sessions and should be powered off to cool.
  • NexiGo’s own page mixes in a 4K spec block copied from a different model, so read its numbers with care.

Which model this is

This page covers the NexiGo StreamCam N930E, a 1080p webcam with a built-in ring light. The ASIN is B08J896MYT. Don’t mix it up with the N930E Pro (4K with a stepless light), the N930AF (no ring light), or the N930P, N940E and N960E.

Ring light, autofocus and the spec sheet

NexiGo is a US-registered brand (Nexight INC., Beaverton, Oregon) that still lists the N930E on its support site while marking the product sold out. The image chain is a 1/2.7-inch 2 MP CMOS sensor shooting 1920 × 1080 at 30 fps, with autofocus and a 75° diagonal field of view. A touch control cycles the ring light through three levels from its 12 white LEDs, and a slide switch covers the lens when the camera is idle.

First-party numbers need checking. NexiGo’s N930E page carries a specification block copied from a different, 4K model (a Sony STARVIS 2 sensor, dual mics, a 9-layer lens, 10× digital zoom) that does not describe this webcam. The N930E’s own block — 1080p30, a 1/2.7-inch sensor, YUY2/MJPG, no digital zoom, a single noise-reduction mic — matches the manual.

Software, care and warranty

Setup is plug-and-play over USB. The optional NexiGo Webcam Settings Software adds brightness, saturation, exposure, focus and powerline-frequency controls, and it can downscale resolution.

Care is simple: wipe the body with a soft dry cloth, clean the lens with a dry microfiber cloth or lens cleaner, and unplug the USB when it is not in use. The manual says not to disassemble the camera and to use the warranty rather than attempt a repair. Registering the purchase within 14 days of delivery extends the warranty to two years total.

Is it worth it?

NexiGo lists the N930E at $59.99 and marks it sold out (NexiGo, October 2026). At that price the feature set — 1080p30, autofocus, a ring light, a privacy shutter and a tripod thread — is typical of budget webcams, and the ring light plus the shutter are the parts worth paying for. Nothing independent measures the image or the microphone, though, and there is no owner corpus to fall back on, so the camera is a reasonable buy only with a clean return path. If measured video and audio quality are the priority, pick a model with published third-party tests.
