Summary
A right-blade M18 sidewinder for buyers already on Milwaukee’s battery system, with a 5,800 RPM POWERSTATE brushless motor and a 12.0 Ah High Output battery in the kit. Check weight and handedness before buying: it runs 12.6 lb with the big battery, and the dust port throws chips at left-handed users.
Strengths
- Fastest of 12+ saws on a two-sheet OSB rip with an XC6.0 Forge battery (19.23 sec).
- 5,800 RPM brushless motor with magnesium shoe and guards, electric brake, LED and cutline blower.
- 5-year warranty on the power tool.
- Strong value in the $199-$229 range.
Weaknesses
- Heavy at 12.6 lb with the 12.0 Ah battery.
- Upper guard obstructs the blade view on crosscuts and slightly hangs up on bevel cuts.
- Dust port ejects debris toward left-handed users.
- Battery pack and wear parts are excluded from the 5-year tool warranty.
- Bare tool 2732-20 is listed as no longer available.
- Most independent test data comes from one outlet; long-term owner durability data are thin.

Full research notes and sources
Cutting performance
On a sled rig with a CMT Zero Gravity blade, it ripped two stacked sheets of OSB in 26.12 sec with the 12.0 Ah battery and 19.23 sec with an XC6.0 Forge battery, the fastest of more than a dozen saws; a full-depth four-layer OSB cut took 8.47 sec with the Forge battery, third fastest. Removing the dust-port adaptor slightly improves chip ejection and performance. The “power of a 15A corded saw” claim is manufacturer marketing; one owner comment attributes the strong thin-kerf results to blade efficiency rather than raw power.
Weight, handling and dust
The saw weighs 9.2 lb with blade and 12.6 lb with the 12.0 Ah battery. The blade guard did not hang up on crosscuts but slightly during bevel cuts, and the upper guard obstructed the blade view on crosscuts unless the user leaned left. Depth adjustment is slightly obstructed by the hand holding the saw. Owners report that a 6.0 Ah or 8.0 Ah battery may balance better than the 12.0 Ah pack. The integrated dust port ejects debris toward a left-handed user, and removing the adaptor slightly improves chip ejection. No reports of electrical or mechanical failure were found in the sources read, so the prevalence of any issue cannot be estimated.
Warranty and upkeep
The power tool is warranted for 5 years to the original purchaser. Cordless battery packs are expressly excluded and have separate warranties, and normal wear items such as chucks, brushes, cords, saw shoes, blade clamps, o-rings, seals and bumpers are excluded. The manual directs users to keep dust and debris out of vents, keep handles clean, dry and free of oil or grease, and inspect for undue noise, misalignment, binding or breakage; after six months to one year depending on use it recommends returning the tool, battery and charger to a Milwaukee service facility for inspection. Repairs go through Milwaukee service centers. Milwaukee’s product page links to manuals and a parts list search for 2732-21HD. Battery-pack warranty length was not stated in the sources read.
Is it worth it?
At $199-$229 the kit is exceptional value given the tested cutting performance and 5-year tool warranty. Around $299-$399 it remains a strong premium option for users already in the M18 system. Above $400 the buyer is paying mainly for the 12.0 Ah battery; the lower-priced 2732-21HO kit (6.0 Ah battery, $299 in January 2023) or a bare tool plus an existing battery may be the better route unless maximum runtime is required. Because the tool-only 2732-20 is listed as no longer available, used/refurbished or successor 2834 pricing may be more relevant for new buyers. Pro Tool Reviews (2024) listed the bare tool at $199 and the 12.0 Ah kit at $399; ToolGuyd (January 2023) reported the 2732-21HD kit at $449.
Which model this is
This page covers the M18 FUEL 7-1/4 in. circular saw kit, model 2732-21HD, sold with one M18 REDLITHIUM HIGH OUTPUT HD12.0 (12.0 Ah) battery, an M18 & M12 rapid charger, blade, blade wrench and contractor bag. The bare tool is model 2732-20. Milwaukee’s newer 2834/2835 saws are successors with different features (the 2834 is rated 6,000 RPM) and must not be treated as this model. The manufacturer’s tool-only page for 2732-20 states the product is no longer available, while the kit page remains active. Do not confuse the 2732-21HD with the 2732-21HO kit.
