Summary

A 12V M12 right-angle drill for fastening and drilling in tight spots, sold as a bare tool with a short 3-3/4 in head. Check before you buy: the kit version is discontinued, and you need M12 batteries and a charger you may not own.

Strengths

  • The 3-3/4 in head fits between studs and inside cabinets.
  • The spindle-lock ratcheting chuck grips better than the keyed chucks typical of this class.
  • An electronic clutch with 11 settings plus drill mode is rare on a subcompact right-angle drill.
  • The extended paddle switch works in both pistol and palm grip.
  • The LED doubles as a clutch-position indicator and the fuel gauge shows charge.
  • It runs on the M12 platform, so the battery works across 100+ tools.

Weaknesses

  • The bare tool includes no battery, charger or case.
  • A brushed motor and a single 800 RPM speed trail current brushless M12 tools.
  • No independent instrumented test verifies torque or speed under load.
  • Owner and long-term reliability evidence is thin, with small retailer review samples.
  • The kit page is marked no longer available, so bundle stock is limited.

What it is and who it is for

This is a 12V M12 right-angle drill/driver built for tight spaces where a pistol-grip drill will not fit, such as between studs or inside cabinets. The 3-3/4 in head and 2.03 lb body make it easy to place one-handed. It is an older brushed design: Milwaukee’s current M12 FUEL drill/drivers are brushless and rate higher, with the 3403-20 at 400 in-lbs.

What owners paid

Retailer prices in October 2026 put the bare tool at $98.99 at Walmart, $119 at Ace Hardware, Great Lakes Power Tools, Ohio Power Tool and Summit Racing, $150.24 at GlobalTestSupply, and a stale $199 at Home Depot. A Home Depot kit with a 2.0 Ah battery was $159, and Walmart snippets also showed a 2415-21 kit at $156.99 and a bare tool at $108.99. If you do not already own M12 batteries, add roughly $50 to $100 for a battery and charger when weighing the bare-tool price.

Is it worth it

At $99 to $119 the tool is reasonable if you already have M12 batteries and want occasional tight-space work. Above $120 it is weak, because current M12 FUEL brushless drill/drivers offer more for a little more money. Without M12 batteries, the tool plus battery plus charger can cost as much as a more capable current model, so the compact head and spindle-lock chuck are what you are really buying.

Which model this is

This page covers the Milwaukee 2415-20 M12 3/8 in right-angle drill/driver, UPC 045242197163. The listing ASIN is B002SQK996. The kit variant is 2415-21, now marked no longer available on Milwaukee’s site. Do not confuse it with the M18 line, M12 FUEL brushless models or other brands’ 12V right-angle drills.
