Milwaukee 2415-20 M12 Right Angle Drill: problems, parts and running costs

Checked: 2026-10-13

Summary

The 2415-20 is a 12 V M12 right-angle drill/driver sold as a bare tool, so the battery and charger are extra, and it is an older brushed design that Milwaukee’s current M12 FUEL line has moved past. It has no consumables, so the yearly running cost is just the shared M12 battery and charger you may already own. It is a reasonable buy under $120 if you already have M12 batteries, and weak above that.

Common problems and fixes

Parts and consumables

Yearly running cost

The tool has no consumables and no subscription; the only running cost is the shared M12 battery and charger, which you pay once and amortize across the M12 system’s 100+ tools. A bare tool plus a typical $50 to $100 battery and charger brings the total well above the bare-tool price, but no yearly figure is published.

When it is a good buy

In October 2026 the bare tool was $98.99 at Walmart, $119 at Ace Hardware, Great Lakes Power Tools, Ohio Power Tool and Summit Racing, and $150.24 at GlobalTestSupply; a Home Depot kit with a 2.0 Ah battery was $159, and a Walmart snippet showed a bare tool at $108.99. Under $120 it is reasonable if you already own M12 batteries. Above $120 it is weak, because Milwaukee’s own M12 FUEL 3403-20 at $159 or more offers 400 in-lbs in a brushless body. Without M12 batteries, the total cost of tool, battery and charger may approach a more capable current model.
