Problems, parts and running costs

Summary

A filter-free warm-mist humidifier that boils water in a dishwasher-safe 304 stainless-steel tank, for people who want warm steam without buying filters. The catch is the evidence: no independent test and almost no owner discussion of this exact model exist.

Strengths

  • The 3.3 L tank is food-grade 304 stainless steel and dishwasher safe, so the main vessel cleans itself in the dishwasher.
  • No filter to buy or replace; descaling is the only routine maintenance.
  • Three mist levels give about 9 hours on low, 7 on medium and 4 on high per tank.
  • Child lock, a 1–9 h timer, sleep mode and auto shut-off on empty are all included.
  • Boiling water avoids the white dust that ultrasonic units scatter in hard water.

Weaknesses

  • No independent instrumented test of this exact model exists at RTINGS, Wirecutter or the other major outlets.
  • No Mifasol-specific owner discussion was found, so the long-term reliability is unknown.
  • One Walmart review says sleep mode doesn’t actually turn off all the lights, contradicting the manual.
  • A used Kijiji listing shows an MFS-JSQ-01 sold as-is because the seller could not turn it on.
  • Boiling water means a 15–30 minute wait for visible steam and higher electricity use than ultrasonic units.
  • The 800 sq ft coverage is a manufacturer claim; third-party mirrors say 1000 sq ft, and neither figure is tested.

Warm mist, output and energy

This is a steam humidifier: it boils water to make warm mist, so the first visible steam takes roughly 15–30 minutes. The storefront’s headline claim of boiling water to 212 °F is manufacturer copy — no independent measurement of steam temperature exists.

Coverage is claimed at up to 800 sq ft, though several third-party listing mirrors quote 1000 sq ft for the same 3.3 L unit; the first-party figure is the one to trust, and neither has been tested. Boiling water also makes the unit power-hungry relative to ultrasonic models. No electricity measurement exists for the MFS-JSQ-01; for context, RTINGS measured a warm-mist Vicks V750 at 171 Wh and 0.9 L/kWh. Expect higher running electricity than an ultrasonic unit, since the water has to be boiled.

Controls and safety

Three mist levels (Low, Medium, High) run about 9, 7 and 4 hours per tank, and three constant-humidity presets (50, 60, 70 %) let the unit hold a target. A 1–9 h timer, sleep mode and a child lock round out the panel; the lock takes a 3-second long-press, and while it is on only the power button works. The lid has a triple lock — child lock, lid-open button and lid-locking bar — and the unit shuts itself off when the tank runs empty.

Sleep mode turns the display off and drops to low mist, but one Walmart review says it “doesn’t actually turn off all the lights”, while the manual says every display light goes off except the sleep indicator. If a dark bedroom matters, treat that as an open question. The manual also asks for a flat, level surface with 13 in (32 cm) clearance on all sides and 40 in (100 cm) above the unit.

Cleaning, running costs and support

There are no filters to buy. The manual has you wipe the body with a soft towel or sponge and clean the inner pot one to two times a week with hot soapy water; the stainless-steel pot itself is dishwasher safe. Descaling is the real routine: the manual’s E1 error code with beeping points to low water or long-uncleaned scale.

Support is manufacturer-direct: a one-year warranty from date of purchase, with a six-month extension if you sign up through the brand’s feekaa.com portal — an unusual mechanism for a US product. Warranty service needs the warranty card and order number, and support runs through info@mifasol.vip. Unauthorized disassembly voids the warranty, and no first-party parts catalog exists, so post-warranty repair means going back to the brand.

Is it worth it?

Mifasol’s own store lists the black 3.3 L unit at $179.99 and the white at $169.99, with free shipping over $100 (October 2026). Third-party listing mirrors quote about $51 to $80 for the same unit, but their provenance is unclear and they are not reliable price anchors.

At the direct price the value case is weak. This is mid-range money for a product with no third-party instrumented validation and a sparse owner track record; under $90 the missing testing would be tolerable, and $91–130 would be fair. A used Kijiji listing shows one MFS-JSQ-01 sold as-is because the seller could not turn it on — a single data point, but it underlines the unknown reliability.

Buy it only if the specific package matters: a compact 3.3 L stainless, dishwasher-safe steam tank with 800 mL/h output, child lock and a manufacturer-direct warranty. If you just want warm mist, independently tested alternatives with known support histories are the safer choice.

Which model this is

This page covers the Mifasol Stainless Steel Humidifier, model MFS-JSQ-01 — the 3.3 L warm-steam unit, sold in black and white. The Amazon listing for this unit is ASIN B0DSVYS7VM. Do not confuse it with the larger LCD-J18, Mifasol’s 20 L cool-and-warm-mist unit, which has its own manual; the storefront’s USER MANUAL page documents only that larger model. Mifasol’s 20 L unit shares the LCD-MH-J18 model number with Lacidoll, which suggests a white-label relationship, though Mifasol has not confirmed it.
