Summary

A 6.8" Android 11 e-reader with a 6.8" Eink Carta 1200 panel at 1648×1236 / 300 PPI and 256-level grayscale, 24-level warm/cool Smart Light, full Google Play Store access, 3GB RAM, 32GB storage with microSD expansion up to 1TB, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth, a built-in speaker and a 2900mAh battery claimed at up to 60 hours of active reading. Check your Android version and update policy before you buy: it runs Android 11, which is a generation behind the Meebook M8’s Android 14 and octa-core 2.2GHz chip.

Strengths

  • 32GB internal storage plus microSD expansion up to 1TB gives you plenty of space for books and comics.
  • Full Google Play Store access lets you install Kindle, Libby, Kobo, Audible and other apps.
  • ZReader app handles a wide format set including PDFs, EPUBs, comics (CBR/CBZ) and audio files.
  • 300 PPI Eink Carta 1200 panel provides sharp text for reading.
  • 3GB RAM and dual-band WiFi give smooth app performance and fast wireless transfers.
  • Lightweight and compact design for a 6.8" e-reader.

Weaknesses

  • Android 11 is a generation behind the Meebook M8’s Android 14 and octa-core 2.2GHz processor.
  • Quad-core Cortex A55 chip means slower app performance than newer Android devices.
  • Platform-level issues from the Meebook family: front light described as not bright on the M8; touch and stylus quality issues with active digitizer; interface with a learning curve.
  • Dependence on third-party apps rather than a complete built-in reading solution.
  • Unproven update and support track record; Meebook is a comparatively young brand founded in 2021.

Battery life and Android version

The M7’s 2900mAh battery is claimed to deliver up to 60 hours of active reading, but that figure depends on usage. The processor is a Cortex A55 quad-core running Android 11, which is a generation behind the Meebook M8’s octa-core 2.2GHz chip and Android 14. Those are M8 numbers and are not M7 numbers.

The M7 shares the ZReader app and the Android approach but not the newer silicon. Android 11 with a quad-core Cortex A55 means the M7 will fall behind the M8 and current mainstream Android hardware on app performance and on how long security and app updates keep coming. The Meebook platform is described as carrying a 1-year warranty excluding physical damage, but the M7 page itself only lists a warranty card without terms, so the 1-year figure is the range-level statement, not an M7-specific published term.

Formats and apps

ZReader handles sideloaded DRM-free files across a wide format set including PDF, EPUB, MOBI, AZW3, DOC, RTF, TXT, CBR, CBZ, JPG, PNG and audio files, and the reader docs state that Kindle, Libby, Kobo, Audible and Google Play Books can all be installed, so a buyer is not tied to one store. Paid-store books require the corresponding store apps installed from Google Play.

The M7 package includes the e-reader unit, USB cable, Quick Start Guide and warranty card. USB is used both for charging and for transferring books. The official site’s general FAQ mentions copying files into a ‘books’ folder over USB. Color is gray. Exact dimensions, weight and chassis materials for the M7 are not stated in any source read here; the manufacturer pages list “lightweight, compact” without figures.
