Summary
A 1 kg spool of white PRO Series ABS in 1.75 mm for an enclosed, heated, ventilated printer, with a manufacturer-claimed ±0.02 mm diameter and an inline color-control process. Check before buying: the exact item is flagged Clearance with final-sale language, and the manufacturer’s own documents disagree on diameter tolerance and bed temperature.
Strengths
- Manufacturer claims tight feedstock control: ±0.02 mm diameter, 40 Hz laser gauging and an inline spectrometer.
- Repeatable white appearance is the stated goal of spectrometer comparison to a fixed shade recipe.
- ABS tolerates heat and can be sanded and solvent-welded for prototypes, fixtures and props.
- Official document trail: TDS, SDS, color-control sheet and RoHS declaration are downloadable from the product page.
- Higher-volume option: 10 lb White PRO at $210, about $46.30/kg, for established white ABS workflows.
- An independent 2019 university evaluation exists for the series, though it tested Black PRO ABS, not White.
Weaknesses
- Published specifications conflict: ±0.02 vs ±0.05 mm diameter, 80–110 vs 100–130°C bed, 240–260 vs 220–240°C nozzle.
- A 2019 university test found Black PRO ABS the weakest tensile specimens with serious warping; it does not establish current White performance.
- ABS shrinks, lifts and splits without stable chamber temperature and adequate bed adhesion, and no independent White printed-part data exists.
- The exact item’s page carries final-sale language, so ordinary 30-day returns do not apply.
- The page carries a styrene warning and SDS fume guidance, with no model-specific emission measurements.
- It costs $52/kg against $19.99 for White MH Build and $18.99 for ELEGOO standard ABS, with no proven yield or scrap improvement.

Print setup and temperatures
ABS needs a genuinely hot bed and a stable enclosed chamber. The overlapping bed range is 100–110°C; the overlapping nozzle range is 230–240°C. MatterHackers’ June 25, 2026 ABS guide recommends 110°C for stubborn adhesion and leveling the bed hot. Do not command a bed to 130°C without confirming the plate, magnet and wiring are rated for it, and do not exceed a hotend’s rated temperature. Start with a clean heated plate, calibrated Z offset at working temperature, limited part cooling, a brim on small test parts, and 5°C nozzle increments if layers split or string.
The manufacturer’s own documents disagree. The current page and the November 23, 2022 color-control sheet state ±0.02 mm; the technical data sheet states ±0.05 mm. Live bed guidance is 80–110°C against 100–130°C in the older sheet. High-speed nozzle guidance is 240–260°C against 220–240°C in the older sheet. These are confirmed published conflicts, not measured defects on a current roll; request a dated controlling specification and lot data before professional procurement.
Strength, warping and ventilation
Independent evidence is limited and color-specific data are absent. The 2019 Valparaiso University study found Black PRO ABS produced the weakest tested tensile specimens, most below 400 lbf, with serious warping; the authors cited possible residual stress from uneven cooling and did not complete enough heated-chamber tests to recommend a universal setup. That study does not establish White performance. Owner reports describe MatterHackers regular ABS housings warping at 255°C nozzle and 110°C bed, and ABS strong enough to pull a spring-steel sheet upward; those reports do not identify White PRO spools. ABS shrinkage makes precision holes, flat trays and tall walls susceptible to warping, so test a cooled fit coupon before committing to long prints. The page carries a California warning for styrene and the SDS says to avoid fumes and use local ventilation; NIOSH and EPA document VOCs and ultrafine particles from 3D printing. No emissions were measured from this specific spool, so a sealed enclosure alone does not make printing harmless.
Cost and buying guidance
MatterHackers lists White PRO at $52.00 for 1 kg and $210 for the 10 lb (4.54 kg) spool, about $46.30/kg. At $52/kg, 100 g of nominal raw filament costs $5.20 and 250 g costs $13.00, before adhesion aids, purge, scrap, labor, tax and shipping. Three kg per year at $52/kg is $156; twelve kg is $624, versus $239.88 for the same volume at White MH Build’s $19.99/kg. White MH Build at $19.99 and ELEGOO standard ABS at $18.99 are different formulas and neither carries PRO’s claimed QC. A good-buy target is $30 or less delivered per sealed 1 kg roll with written defect protection and known manufacturing age. Above $40–$52, compare MH Build or ELEGOO and weigh how much tuning and scrap time the premium would save, since no controlled White PRO versus White Build comparison exists.
Returns and support
The August 2025 returns policy allows 30 days after receipt for eligible regular non-clearance goods, with a 15% restocking fee on non-defective filament and buyer-paid return shipping, an RMA, and 7–10 business days to process. Clearance items are final sale and excluded from ordinary returns, so confirm in writing whether M7Y7ZCKR is regular stock, clearance or a revised SKU before opening the roll. The older September 2012 warranty page offers one month for printed parts and motors and otherwise supplies items as-is; it does not provide a long-term material warranty for this filament. Keep the order, SKU, lot or package, photos of failures and diameter measurements when contacting support.
Which model this is
This page covers the white 1 kg PRO Series ABS spool, SKU M7Y7ZCKR, in 1.75 mm. It is not White MH Build Series ABS, not the 2.85 mm PRO ABS, not the 10 lb high-capacity spool, and not ESD-safe, PC-ABS or ASA filament. The product page and catalog are traceable; the catalog shows White 1 kg at $52.00 and the individual page includes clearance and final-sale language, plus a Notify Me widget, so verify checkout availability and clearance status before assuming a normal return.
