Summary
A 5-ply stainless clad set of six pans and four lids, oven-safe to 800°F and induction-ready, for a home cook who wants one durable cookware family and can live with stainless’s learning curve. Check the country-of-origin stamp before you buy, because the same set is sold as Made in Italy and Made in the USA.
Strengths
- Even heat and quick warm-up are the most repeated praise themes from owners.
- Consumer Reports rated cooking evenness and food release excellent on this exact set.
- Food Network’s in-house test reported strong caramelization and no lasting damage after a week of cooking.
- The 4 qt saucepan became the most-used piece during The Kitchn’s month of daily use.
- Hollow stainless handles stayed relatively cool on the stovetop, and the brushed finish hides touch marks.
- Made In backs the set with a lifetime warranty and a 60-day used-product trial on direct orders.
Weaknesses
- Owners report warping and non-flat bases, including a saucier that arrived bowed and a pan that rocked on a flat surface.
- Stainless sticks during a break-in period, and eggs or potatoes can cling until you adjust heat and fat.
- The manufacturer says handwash preferred while Macy’s says dishwasher safe, and dishwasher wear is not covered.
- The warranty excludes heat damage and thermal shock, so a warped pan is not guaranteed a free replacement.
- Owners describe lids that seal tightly enough to stick to the pan after cooling.
- Reddit threads carry recurring complaints about customer service and warranty handling, including a BBB complaint over a $145 refund.

Construction and origin
The set is fully clad, five-layer cookware: a 304/18-10 stainless interior, a 430 ferritic stainless exterior and three aluminum layers between them. The layers run up the walls rather than stopping at a disc base, which helps response above the cooking surface. There is no nonstick coating, so food can stick when heat, fat or timing is off.
Made In sells the same 10-piece set under two pages. The primary page says Made in Italy, while a US-market page says Made in the USA. The brand describes the stainless line as produced in Italy and the USA, so a given shipment can carry either stamp. Ask which variant is shipping if origin matters to you.
Heat, sticking and lids
Consumer Reports tested this exact set and rated cooking evenness and food release excellent, handle temperature and sturdiness very good, heating speed excellent and simmering performance only good. The excellent egg release came from four consecutive eggs in a pan oiled as part of the test; it does not mean stainless behaves like nonstick in a dry pan.
Food Network cooked with every piece and reported good browning, quick warm-up and no lasting damage after a week. But the same test found uneven cooking when the 10-inch pan sat on a 6-inch burner at high heat, so size the burner to the pan and avoid full-power dry preheating.
Sticking is a real learning curve. The Kitchn had eggs and home fries cling in the first week, then worked it out with preheating and more fat. Stainless is not nonstick, and that will not change.
Lids are another friction point. Owners report lids gripping the pan after cooling, apparently from a tight fit and temperature-driven pressure. Handle a sealed lid with care around hot liquid and do not lever it toward yourself.
Warranty, service and running costs
Made In publishes a lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects, but the policy excludes cosmetic staining, scratches, dishwasher wear, excess heat and thermal shock. A lifetime warranty is not a promise that every bowed pan gets a free replacement. The brand also runs a 60-day used-product trial on direct orders, with one prepaid return label.
Owner experiences with claims are mixed. A May 2026 r/cookware report describes multiple pans warping despite gradual heating; after video evidence the company replaced the cookware and let the owner keep the old pieces. A September 2026 owner reported a new saucier that rocked on a flat surface. Other owners got replacements quickly, and others describe slow support or a lost shipment. No audited claim-success rate exists.
Running costs are low. There are no consumables beyond normal cooking supplies, and the set uses no electricity, batteries or subscriptions. Made In’s 12-oz stainless cleaner is optional at $9.99 on sale or $15 regular, enough for months. Individual pieces can be bought separately if one is lost or damaged, from $129 for the 8-inch frying pan to $249 for the 8-qt stockpot.
At the $799 advertised price, ten years of ownership amortizes to $79.90 a year, twenty to $39.95 and thirty to $26.63. Those figures ignore inflation and any replacement, and a warped pan replaced outside warranty would change them.
Is it worth it?
At $799 the set competes with All-Clad’s D3 10-piece set at $799.99 and Heritage Steel’s 5-ply Eater set at $749.95. The Made In set lists against a $1,024 reference price at Made In, Macy’s, Crate & Barrel, Sur La Table and Wayfair as of October 2026. All-Clad’s D3 is 3-ply with a 600°F oven limit, while Heritage Steel’s set is US-made 5-ply at a lower price.
Its strengths are the 5-ply cladding, the useful 4 qt saucepan and 3 qt saucier, and strong independent lab scores. Its risks are the warping reports and the warranty-handling complaints, which are the main non-performance concerns at this price. If you want nonstick ease or only need one or two pans, look elsewhere.
Which model this is
This page covers the Made In 10-Piece Stainless Clad Set, the 5-ply stainless clad line, not the CeramiClad nonstick or carbon steel ranges. The Amazon listing for this set is ASIN B09HR6MV21. Confirm the country-of-origin stamp on the box, since the same set ships as Italian or US-made.
