Which model this is

This page covers the HERO-sensor revision of the G703 LIGHTSPEED, model number M/N M-R0080, with a HERO 25K sensor rated 100-25,600 CPI and 35/60-hour battery life. An older, visually identical revision (M/N M-R0063) uses a PMW3366 sensor rated 200-12,000 CPI with shorter rated battery life (30/22 hours), and the two are not equivalent. RTINGS notes the revisions look identical, so check the sensor and CPI range before buying. The Amazon listing for this mouse is ASIN B0BL65V4R2. Do not confuse it with the G403, G603, G604 or G903.

Sensor and performance

RTINGS measured 125 × 65 × 43 mm, 92.6 g minimum and 105.3 g default, with excellent build quality (8.5/10), excellent click latency (4.1 ms wired, 5.2 ms wireless) and low CPI variation (SRAV 0.12-0.33%). Sensor latency ran 14.1 ms to the start of movement, 4.5 ms at half movement and 6.0 ms to the end, with a 1.2 mm minimum lift-off. The mouse is rated for 50 million clicks. RTINGS scored it Work 7.2, FPS 8.3, MMO 7.9 and Raw Performance 9.1. It does not work on glass.

Battery and charging

The rechargeable Li-polymer battery is rated at 35 hours with RGB on and 60 hours with RGB off. The mouse works while charging over the included micro-USB cable. Logitech’s POWERPLAY wireless charging system is sold separately. RTINGS did not test battery life, so the figures are manufacturer-rated.

Software and reliability

Logitech G HUB handles the 11 programmable inputs, three on-board profiles and two-zone RGB. RTINGS notes widely reported user problems with G HUB, including startup, freezing and device connection. Firmware update tool and Logitech Gaming Software are no longer supported. Logitech support lists no spare parts for the G703.

Is it worth it?

At the manufacturer’s promotional price of $69.99, the G703 is strong value for a wireless gaming mouse with the HERO 25K sensor and a two-year warranty. At the $99.99 list price it is fair value, competing with lighter mice such as the G305 and feature-heavier options such as the G502 line. Owners who need Bluetooth, infinite scroll or a storage compartment for the receiver should look elsewhere.
