Summary
An ultra-light 165 g gaming headset that pairs a LIGHTSPEED USB dongle with Bluetooth, with 40 mm drivers and a claimed 18-hour battery. It fits smaller heads best and skips both a 3.5 mm jack and Xbox support, so check the fit and your console before buying.
Strengths
- At 165 g it is light enough to wear for long sessions without fatigue.
- Dual wireless covers low-latency LIGHTSPEED gaming and Bluetooth for mobile.
- Independent tests back the 18-hour battery claim.
- A clean design with no protruding boom microphone.
- It works across PC, PS4, PS5, Switch and mobile.
Weaknesses
- The all-plastic chassis feels flimsy and reviewers doubt it survives a drop.
- No G Hub support means no EQ, no surround sound and no mic volume control.
- The beamforming mic sounds echoey and picks up background noise.
- It is built for smaller heads, so adult fit can be poor.
- No 3.5 mm jack means no wired fallback and no Xbox compatibility.
- Ear cup adjustment has limited travel and can slip during use.

Fit and comfort
The catch is size. RTINGS calls it a low-cost gaming headphone for younger users, though it still fits most adult heads, and Tom’s Guide and IGN both report comfort problems for adults with larger heads. The ear cups slide on thin plastic bars with no discrete notches, have limited travel, and can slip mid-game and need readjusting. The headband uses an elastic suspension design, and the ear cushions are fabric covered.
Sound and microphone
The 40 mm drivers cover 20 Hz to 20 kHz. Tom’s Guide found the sound competent but unremarkable, with clear gunshots that lack oomph and a flat soundscape in music. IGN found good detail for gunfire and explosions but no surround sound to pinpoint direction. Because the headset does not work with G Hub, what you hear out of the box is what you get. The dual beamforming mic keeps the design clean but trails a boom mic: Trusted Reviews called it “very echoey” with reverb, IGN noted background noise leakage, and Tom’s Guide said it is “only OK at picking up voices.” Tolerable for casual chat, a real drawback for competitive play.
Compatibility and setup
PC, PS4, PS5, Switch and mobile are covered, but Xbox is not, because there is no 3.5 mm jack and no Xbox wireless protocol. Bluetooth pairing needs Power and Mute held together for 3 seconds. An 85 dB volume limiter is available for younger users. Charging is over USB-C, and there is no wired mode.
Is it worth it?
The G435 launched at $79.99. Up to about $60 it is strong value if you want low weight and dual wireless; at $61–80 it is fair; above that the flimsy build and mediocre mic are hard to defend, and Wirecutter’s sub-$100 pick is the Logitech G325 at around $80 rather than this headset. Buy it for weight and wireless versatility, not for sound tuning or microphone quality.
Which model this is
This page covers the Logitech G435 LIGHTSPEED Wireless Gaming Headset, released in 2021, sold in Black & Neon Yellow, Off-White & Lilac, and Blue & Raspberry. It is not the G325, Wirecutter’s sub-$100 wireless pick, and it is not compatible with Xbox consoles.
