Lodge LCC3: problems, parts and running costs

Checked: 2026-10-18

Summary

The LCC3 is a two-piece cast iron set, a 3.2 qt deep skillet plus a shallow skillet that works as a lid or griddle, made in the USA and pre-seasoned with vegetable oil. The usual trouble is rust from poor drying and an unsuitable stovetop: one retailer warns Lodge bottoms are not perfectly flat and should not be used on glass-top stoves, which clashes with Lodge’s claim that it works on any stovetop including induction. The only recurring cost is cooking oil for maintenance, and it is a good buy at Lodge’s $69.95, less compelling at the $80-85 some US stores charge.

Yearly running cost

Not enough data. The only recurring cost is cooking oil for seasoning; no owner-paid price for it appears in the sources, and there are no pods, filters or electricity costs. [1] [2]

When it is a good buy

Alternative: a standard Lodge Dutch oven of similar capacity — the better choice if you do not need the second piece, which serves as both lid and griddle. [1] [3]
