Summary
LG’s Kompressor cordless stick pairs a self-compacting 33.8 oz dust bin, two swappable batteries and a 10-year motor warranty with ThinQ Wi-Fi.
Strengths
- Two quick-release batteries let you charge one while you clean with the other, and LG recommends rotating them.
- The Kompressor lever compresses dust so the bin needs emptying less often.
- At 5.7 lbs it is light for a full-size stick, and owners consistently praise the low weight.
- The washable cyclone and filters mean no routine filter purchases.
- The 10-year Smart Inverter Motor warranty is long for a stick vacuum.
- ThinQ watches battery and filter health, and SmartDiagnosis can flag faults.
Weaknesses
- Real-world runtime falls far short of the 120-minute claim: LG’s own support page rates about 9 minutes in strong mode and 30 in standard, and owners report 15-20 minutes per battery.
- Batteries fade to about 80% capacity after 500 cycles, and replacements are a recurring cost owners already shop for.
- Emptying the bin still throws a dust cloud despite the Kompressor lever.
- Pet-hair clogging and filter odor after washing recur in owner reports.
- Noise is 84 dB, a consistent con at Best Buy.
- One r/VacuumCleaners owner reports chronically poor suction from the box and worsening head noise at 18 months; the post names no model code.

Battery life and real-world runtime
LG’s 120-minute figure covers two batteries in Normal mode with no powered nozzle attached. Its own support page rates the A9 at about 9 minutes in strong mode and about 30 minutes in standard mode per charge. A full charge takes about 4 hours per battery, about 8 hours for both.
LG’s July 2025 battery guidance says A9 batteries fade to about 80% capacity after 500 charge cycles and recommends rotating the two batteries so they wear evenly. A used-unit owner on r/VacuumCleaners reports weak batteries — two bars dropping to one, Turbo shutting off — and asks about affordable OEM replacements. LG sells replacement batteries, filters and parts through its parts store, and owners treat them as a real recurring cost.
Suction, noise and the dust bin
Treat every suction number with care. No instrumented test of this exact model has been published, so there is no measured suction number to quote.
Even so, owners in retailer pools and on Reddit praise the cleaning on hard floors and carpet, and the light body gets repeated mentions.
The Kompressor lever compacts bin contents for up to 2.4x more capacity, but that claim rests on LG internal tests observed by Intertek, run in Turbo mode with cat hair. Owners still complain that emptying the bin throws a dust cloud, and pet-hair clogging plus filter odor after washing are recurring complaints. At 84 dB it is loud, and noise is a consistent con at Best Buy.
Maintenance and running costs
Expect to wash the cyclone and filters regularly and let them dry fully before refitting. ThinQ sends filter-cleaning reminders, though some owners question the app’s usefulness and connectivity complaints pop up occasionally.
There are no routine consumables beyond batteries. Replacement batteries, filters and parts are sold through LG’s parts store, and owners of used units already shop for replacements — battery wear is the main long-term cost of owning this vacuum.
Is it worth it?
At the October 2026 check, LG USA listed the A925KSM at $499, National Appliance Warehouse had it at $581.99 on sale, and Best Buy showed $999, sold out. At $499 it is a defensible premium cordless stick: two-battery flexibility, the Kompressor bin, washable filtration and a 10-year motor warranty. Above about $600, the unverified suction claim, battery-wear signals and missing instrumented data make alternatives with published numbers easier to justify. A 2023 Reddit mini-review noted a $479 Costco bundle, but bundle contents vary by channel — check what ships in the box.
Which model this is
This is the A925KSM in Matte Silver, LG’s Kompressor cordless stick with ThinQ. It is not the CordZero robot vacuum, nor the non-Kompressor A9 sticks. LG’s current lineup lists the A941KTMP as its strongest-suction model, so the A925KSM is no longer the top of the range. The Amazon listing for this model is ASIN B09B7XYBK1.
