Lenovo ThinkVision MC60: problems, parts and running costs

Checked: 2026-10-29

Summary

The ThinkVision MC60 is a monitor-attached, cableless 1080p IR+RGB webcam whose main risks are compatibility and unverified performance: it only works with select ThinkVision P and T series monitors, and no independent test of its image, audio, autofocus or IR-login reliability was found. It is hard to call a clear buy until monitor compatibility is confirmed and a verified street price exists.

Common problems and fixes

Works only with select ThinkVision P and T series monitors — the MC60 is monitor-attached and cableless, drawing 5 V at 800 mA from the monitor USB-A port, so it is not a universal USB webcam for laptops or desktops without a compatible monitor. Confirm the monitor model supports it before buying. [3][4]
Autofocus is disputed between sources — Lenovo’s spec sheet lists “Focus Type: Autofocus” and the product page markets autofocus, but Bechtle’s spec table lists “Autofocus: No”. Manufacturer data is preferred but the conflict is unresolved, and no independent test settles it. [2][3][4]
Frame rate is reported two ways — Lenovo and Bechtle state 1080p at 30 fps, while Tradeinn lists both 30 fps and a conflicting “Maximum Frame Rate: 60 FPS” attribute. [3][4][5]
Teams certification firmware qualifier is unverified — certification is listed on Lenovo’s spec sheet, but no firmware-update requirement appears on any retrieved page, so whether all units ship with the same firmware is unknown. [3]
